I actually agreed with something Tucker Carlson said last night on MSNBC
When asked about his reactions to *'s address, Carlson said, the left already hate *, however it's the fiscal conservatives who are starting to questions his actions (Carlson included).

1. And I liked how Rachel Maddow answered him.
Edited on Fri Sep-16-05 10:36 AM by Carolab
She explained that liberals are not "spend happy" people as the right likes to paint them, but rather want to see tax monies spent responsibly and not see deficits into oblivion. Also made it clear that this administration is the REAL spend-happy party.

I wish she would have mentioned that Howard Dean is a "fiscal conservative", too. THAT would have frosted Tucker's cake.

3. Yeah, I could jump on the bandwagon
if I thought there was actually money to back up his promises. But I sure don't know where he is going to get it from.

5. He noted after that:
"All nine of them."

Hey, I laughed - he's right.

6. What exactly is a fiscal conservative?
I've usually heard it used to describe someone who supports balancing the budget.

I'm a leftist and I support balanced budgets.

Why would a defecit-hawk "start to question" Bush, when the motherfucker has been running defecits for 5 years now?

11. "What exactly is a fiscal conservative?"
not really sure :-) I guess the point of agreement was that most on the left already despise Bush, but supposedly the "conservative" base is finally saying WTF?

10. tucker is a douche
his "god bless you" last word to michael newdow, as well as his specious logic when "interviewing" him (more like browbeating) were inexcusable.

newdow is the patriot. the Undergod has no place in the pledge or on our money. tucker carlson needs to read the fucking constitution.

12. The RW noise machine has long been working on making...
government social programs = tax and spend (i.e. big spending) liberal programs, and big spending = liberals in the minds of the sheeple. Many a "conservative" just assumes that if their guy is in office, fiscal conservation will just automatically follow.

Guess they were very, very wrong.
