"Sharing God's word can now be considered Hate Speech"

Thats right! Roy Moore is coming to town.

We used to play this school in sports. They were the Fulton Unity Christian Knights. Hmmm F U C K  In all seriousness this is a blue area for the most part so I am fairly frightened that someone thought bringing Moore hear would be a good fundraiser.

1. Did you read the article in, I think, Atlantic? Maybe Harpers
on the Stone Road Show and Roy Moore? I recommend it. The Stone, as they call it, is an object of veneration and Moore campaigning for Governor and Chief Theocrat.

3. someone needs to remind them
Edited on Fri Sep-16-05 11:18 AM by SemperEadem
that living by the ten commandments instead of worshipping an engraved image (aka IDOL) of the ten commandments is what they should be concerning themselves with.

How do they feel about liars? About thieves? About those xtians who cannot bring themselves to live by their God's golden rule? To me, that's what Roy Moore and his ilk should be concerning themselves with... not about a graven image being placed on government property.

These people have their priorities all screwed up.

4. "Join us for cookies and refreshments afterward....
followed by burning a witch at the stake!! Bring the kids, fun for all ages!!! May the peace and love of Christ shine on us!!!"

What's curious is how things change for political convenience. He claims to be a true bible believing evangelical, but he takes up "nativity scenes," which the hardshell baptist used to view as "papist" and idol worship... How conveeeeeenient.

9. I refer to witch burning frequently...
And with much concern. The metaphor, IMHO, sums up the political and religious agenda of the right. With any issue, they must frame it in such a way as to demonize opposition. The most commonly burned witches seem to be, (in no particular order):

Any Clinton
The media
gays
minorities
Hugo Chavez
Ted Kennedy
Jimmy Carter
Please add yours...

the list goes on. They can't just state their position, they have to toss out the witch to get people to attend, listen, believe. The religious and political intolerance that allowed a score of people to be executed in Salem is consistent with their actions today. go figure.
