Why has Bush been given a free pass on the National debt?
This has been a huge issue for past presidents and may be the worst act of terrorism committed against the people by this president, especially considering he was handed a surplus to start in 2001.

9. I'm not saying you don't hear about it....
but compared to the 80's and 90's-the media doesn't think it's that much of an emergency anymore.

5. I hold Bush accountable for everything....
The debt, the war, the failures that just keep coming one after another.....The failures will never stop now, the state he has put this country in will keep on shining through for the rest of he dictatorship! 2006 can't get here soon enough to start the impeachment process.

6. Of late, there has been discussions about rescinding the massive tax
cuts, and actually upping revenue, (raise taxes); albeit most of it was canned in the media.

Social Security reform is dead, and the "Death Tax" issue is gone as well. It still comes down to congress as to just how this will be dealt with,,,one thing is for certain, the neo-cons are NOT fiscal conservatives, they are greed driven assholes.

7. Bush lies his ass off about it.
The administration constantly denies the reality of its deficit spending. It all adds up, or rather, stops things from adding up.

---all Iraq and War spending is off budget and isn't included in projections.

---none of Bush's planned tax cuts are included in projections, as are the tax cuts currently set to expire and Bush plans to make permanent.

---No projections are made beyond ten years.

---The revenues are based on the sunniest of projections of economic growth.

The result is that Bush is able to predict "the deficit will be cut in half in five years" for five years in a row. See, the fifth year never comes, and they never say, eg, "2008". It's like the joke sign in the bar that says "Free Beer Tomorrow!" It's something his Dad also did: in year ONE we were given a graph with a J-curve, showing deficits getting worse for two years and then better in the out years. And we saw the same graph every year after that. The good years never came, because the projection was BULLSHIT.

11. All the money is going to republican cronies
They'll get over this Katrina plan budget, too, once they realize they'll be lining their pockets with most of the money.
