Have you noticed a dramatic decrease in W stickers?
I have. SE Kentucky.

I actually starting noticing a decrease back in late June/early July. Before then, I couldn't drive a block without seeing at least a couple. Then I noticed they were becoming more and more rare.

Now, since Katrina... I haven't seen a SINGLE ONE. And I've been looking! This is not to imply that everyone in my town suddenly saw the light, I'm not that optimistic or naive... but I still found it worth noting. In fact, the only political bumper stickers I've seen lately were a "Vote Democrat" a couple of days ago and a Wesley Clark '04 sticker yesterday.

Are they ripping them off in disgust? Are they ashamed to publicly support him these days? Are all the W emblazoned vehicles simply always on the opposite side of town from me the past few weeks?

My mom in Oakland County, Michigan is also reporting a significant decrease in the number of Bush stickers she sees. Hmmmmm....

1. In Massachusetts, I've seen a few more W or Bush-Cheney '04 stickers
on the way home from work, but not a huge increase.

The states with the minority are feeling like they need to proclaim their support for Idiot Son.

25. actually, when I say I give 'em the finger
I actually just rub the side of my nose with "that finger" so they are never quite sure if they are getting the finger or not. Not a good idea to blatantly give the finger on the road in Texas. :D

37. And if it were my car
and I caught you, I'd be inclined to beat your ass. My anti Bush sticker was torn off by a freeper the other night here in NC and that's what I would have done to that person had I caught them. There is no excuse for ripping off stickers.

7. Two cars in my work parking lot had W stickers
until the past month or two. I think about the time DSM was in the news is when they came off.

The past week I have gotten about 7 'thumbs up' from drivers for my "Visualize Impeachment" sticker -- more than the previous 3 months.

8. I'm not driving as much due to gas prices
so I'm not seeing as many. Don't know if that means the number of stickers is declining in suburban Maryland.

9. Yes, dramatic decrease in 'W' stickers & yellow ribbons in NW
Arkansas also beginning about July. I even posted in the lounge, that wise investors should be stocking up on the things, might sell very well on E-bay in the future.

10. I still see a good number
and I think that as the election recedes into the past, cars change hands, etc., that we will see fewer.

And of course some people have yanked them off in digust.

I see very few Kerry stickers left. I think it is mostly just natural attrition.

11. Yes, in W Texas
I use to see at least one at every stoplight. Now, not so many. I wish I could catch someone in the act of removing it. I would love to ask why. The people I have heard from say they are mad about the spending on the hurricane not the failure of the govt to respond to victims. When you bring up the failed response, they blame the mayor & the residents who didn't leave. But the thought of spending money gets them worked up.

12. I've seen new ones
they're black squares that have a big W in the middle and the small print says "still the President"

Ick....GAg.....Ick!

It's usually paired with a christian fish or yellow ribbon magnet or some "you're gonna burn in hell" type holier than thou bumper sticker.
Makes me sick!

31. Oh, yes, those are the very worst.
As I point out when I can: Those "Still the President" are unprecedented.

When Nixon, Reagan, and Clinton were re-elected, nobody, and I mean no-body, ever thought to affix bumper stickers to their cars to rub McGovern/Mondale/Dole voters' collective faces in it.

Whenever I need to focus on just what it is that's uniquely evil about the worst of the Bush supporters, well, I look no farther than those damn "Still the Preznit" stickers. Feh.

I just added one to my car a week ago or so. I'm hoping to get a better one soon than the one I had lying around which isn't as easy to read as others out there.

18. I mentioned...
this to my wife one Sunday morning and we were both curious about the number of stickers we would see in a Protestant church parking lot. So we took a drive. That's where they all are. Think about the fact , their ministers will be looking for the loyalties to their illustrious "faith based" initiatives leader.

26. I have seen more in the Twin Cities. Should I give them the finger?
I have throught of making an appropriate crude note in big letters to hold up as they drive by:
"The terrorists love your SUV"
"Bush lied, thousands died, thousands more drowned."
and so on.
add your suggestion here.

33. Eastern Oregon. Decrease in B/C stickers and yellow ribbon magnets.
The decrease in numbers of "Support The Troops" stickers just goes to show that many people who claim to support the troops were actually supporting war-mongering bush, not the troops. Nauseating, isn't it?
