Gallup Poll, Does this group favor Republicans, YES!
<snip>
Despite a generally negative evaluation of President George W. Bush's response to Hurricane Katrina, and increasing worries about the war in Iraq, Gallup finds that Bush's approval ratings are climbing, in contrast with every other major research polling service and news agency, RAW STORY has learned.
<end of snip>

<snip>
Gallup has faced critics on the left; their samples tend to include more Republicans than other pollsters, even though there are more registered Democrats in the United States.

Gallup says this more accurately reflects the voting demographic of the country, saying more Republicans vote.

This is very sad that a country that claims to promote Democracy is being subject to propaganda. There was an almost a fifty-fifty split in the last election (better than that if you follow the corruption in the last two National Elections) and this group claims that more Republicans vote!

I wonder what the rest of the polling groups are going to think?

2. I believe rethugs are better voters. Sad but true.
If all people who were dems got their asses in the booth we'd win every election. I'm sure of it.

8. You're confusing statistics
The Gallup sample is looking at totals. Gallup suggests that a greater number of Republicans vote nationally than Democrats. However, if I remember correctly, more Democrats have voted nationally than Republicans in nearly every election in the last four decades.

What you're addressing is propensity to vote, and on that point you are correct. Registered Republicans are more likely to vote than registered Democrats. But that's a completely different issue than the one addressed by Gallup's sampling.

3. At least it reflects increasing solidity in bush's base
As for who actually votes or doesn't vote, I'm not sure that matters. :shrug: By the time Diebold and ES&S are done with things, more Republicans will have their votes counted.

5. In the year of 2000 Al Gore won the popular vote 51% to 49%
Edited on Fri Sep-16-05 08:32 PM by mrdmk
with Mr. Gore actually winning Florida. Mr. Bush Jr. wins the popular vote 51% to 49% with questionable results in Florida, Ohio, New Mexico, Nevada and others. The logic does not fit the explanation other than Gallup Poll is nothing more than propaganda which should answer your question.

Any news organization that uses or quote Gallup needs to shown that the results are subject to manipulation, in mass of course.

edit: fatal spelling error, I am dead (bang).

6. What Is A "Repugnican"??
I knew people who voted for asshat but also voted for Democratic candidates. Where do they fit? How about those who claim their Independent (which most polls show to be upwards of 15% of those who vote)? Yep, broad strokes make it easier to generate the headlines you want.

Gallup has long been debunked as skewing in favor of Repugnicans by upwards of 5 points in a poll and their results also tend to follow other polls...thus if George W. Fuckstick's ratings have dropped, be assured there'll be a Gallup poll within days that will say contrary. Or if he's up by 2 points in one poll will show 5 points in Gallup. Inversely, while the rises always are big jumps for the manchild, his slide is a point here and there.

The most telling poll I saw recently said those that strongly agree with this idiot bastard son are at about 25% (the baby-eaters), while those who strongly disagree has crossed 45% and has climbed 5 points in the last 2 months. Those are the most encouraging numbers I've seen in years.

10. Gallup is losing credibility.
They used to be the best, but now they suck. In the last polls I saw, 3or 4 others were nearly the same with Gallup galluping ahead about 5 points. They are not accurate if their results vary from the others all the time.
