Where were these Repukes when Shrub wanted billions for Iraq?
They had no problem authorizing billions for Iraq, with absolutely no accounting of where the money was going. No worries then about fiscal responsibility or record deficits.

But now they have reservations about spending billions helping Americans in a recovery effort.

What hypocrites!

WASHINGTON, Sept. 15 - The drive to pour tens of billions of federal dollars into rebuilding the hurricane-battered Gulf Coast is widening a fissure among Republicans over fiscal policy, with more of them expressing worry about unbridled spending.

On Thursday, even before President Bush promised that "federal funds will cover the great majority of the costs of repairing public infrastructure in the disaster zone," fiscal conservatives from the House and Senate joined budget watchdog groups in demanding that the administration be judicious in asking for taxpayer dollars.

1. But It's Different
In this case Bush wants money for the poor and minorities, something that most Republicans in Congress couldn't understand.

They have theirs, and they don't want to share. At least not with those out of their class structure.

2. Hypocrites? No. You just have to understand the logic.
Money to kill brown people = good.

Money to help brown people = bad.

Not hypocrites. Evil.

3. Yeah, they're real fiscal bulldogs, aren't they?
If they really want to see a waste of taxpayer dollars, why don't they call in Paul Bremer and ask him to account for, oh, $9 billion that just flat disappeared while he was running Iraq for fun and profit?
