GOP split over plan for big spending. |
|
Yee Haw!!! Let 'em have at one another! http://aolsvc.news.aol.com/news/article.adp?id=20050916091309990001&ncid=NWS00010000000001-snip The drive to pour tens of billions of federal dollars into rebuilding the hurricane-battered Gulf Coast is widening a fissure among Republicans over fiscal policy, with more of them expressing worry about unbridled spending.

now that it's not for war or tax cuts, suddenly they're all up in a tizzy about how much they're going to spend to fix up NOLA and other gulf coast states/towns.
Here's the kicker, if we were still running a surplus like we were under Clinton, paying for NOLA wouldn't even matter, we'd have the money in the coffers. Now, we're going to have to borrow it from China again (or from the taxpayers) and our economy will only continue to crumble.
Ahh, sweet neo-cons!

I don't care who is running things, when you fill up a big trough the pigs will come home to root.

and I was worried about how they would spin it when the Dems brought it up. But now that their own are voicing their concern the spotlight will be on their spat.

6. How does that make the Republican legislative leadership look? |
|
It seems no expense is too great to bear in the Iraq War from waging it to rebuilding that nation yet balking at rebuilding a significant slice of America because of the expense? What a time to see the fiscal light and get stingy.
