Cheney to have surgery for aneurism?
I saw this on Rollcall but no place else. I am not a subscriber so I don't have access to the full story. Anyone else see this anywhere?

Cheney to Have Surgery Next Weekend

The Associated Press
Friday, September 16, 2005; 5:41 PM

WASHINGTON -- Vice President Dick Cheney will undergo an elective surgery next weekend to treat an aneurism in an artery behind his right knee.

The condition, discovered earlier this year during a routine checkup, needs to be treated "as to not become a problem over time," Steve Schmidt, counselor to the vice president, said Friday.

"The procedure will be performed under local anesthetic," Schmidt said. "It will take place next weekend. It will involve a short hospital stay. The vice president will return to work shortly thereafter."

Schmidt said more details will be announced next week.

11. I am drawing a bland
on what happened in the Nixon admin when Agnew resigned. I THINK he appointed Ford, who I guess had to go through Senate confirmation.

And then I think that when Ford became president he appointed Nelson Rockefeller, so at one point both the pres and vp were appointed.

So stranger things have happened in this country.

(Somebody correct me if I'm wrong about the way this worked out... I lived through it but it's been a while)

Katrina doesn't it?

Perhaps he was incapacitated somehow.

17. This could be more than it is being made to seem
This summer my husband had a problem with an anuerysm in his abdomen. After some extensive and expensive testing it was determined that the best policy was watchful waiting and it will be checked again in 6 months. When this came up, I did some research on the internet and talked to a couple of Drs. at work. I found out that this is the best way to go as this type of surgery is pretty serious and even can necessitate using a heart-lung machine during the surgery depending on the location of the anuerysm. I would think that behind the knee is less serious, but are they doing the surgery because C* is a rich white guy or because it is worse than they want it to appear. I do not trust anything that comes out of this administration. I think C* has looked terrible for a long time--remember the ice fishing outfit at Aushwitz--his circulation is likely very bad and along with it he probably has trouble walking even a few steps without heart and breathing discomfort. Having said that I do not think he will resign for health reasons, rather he will stay in and perhaps die in office.

18. Cheney has coronary arterial blockages. He's had 4 heart attacks
and has a pacemaker implant. His circulatory system is shutting itself down piece by piece. He basically has a weak heart and is bloodless.

23. They must've found some reusable body parts along the Gulf.
It probably took some time to find ones that were corrupt enough that Cheney's evil anatomy wouldn't reject them.

24. An aneurysm is never really a tiny problem.
They are definitely more serious where they are elsewhere such as one in your brain or an aortic aneurysm, but they can be indicative of larger issues or can lead to complications.

26. This might explain the Aspen incident
when Arianna spotted him going to an Aspen hospital this summer.

At the time they said he was visiting an orthopod - not cardio. And then all info stopped.

So the time for "watchful waiting" is over - in the midst of Dumbya's latest screwup.

This means to me that the docs think could blow soon.

So who's next? Rove has kidney stones reportedly. If Card has any problems watch for Dumbya to go into full meltdown - and don't think Osama isn't clued in to these variables.
