The opinion of "Rusty" expressed on John Conyer's blog re: The Republican Nemesis:

"'The Republican Nemesis' concisely identifies what Democratic candidates have to do to defeat the GOP slander machine. Kroeger provides a brilliant analysis of how and why these lying, hypocrites in the GOP have been able to cynically manipulate the emotions of voters and deceive them into believing that no Democrat can be trusted."

"Next year, if they heed Kroeger's advice, Democrats in every Congressional district can inspire Democratic voters, win to our side most of the swing voters, and effectively attack their Rovian opponents. In the meantime, if they heed Kroeger's advice, every Democrat and progressive who appears on television in the coming weeks and months will be able to psychologically and emotionally connect with the American people and open their eyes to the vile hypocrisy of the GOP."

"James Kroegers' editorial, 'The Republican Nemesis' MUST BE READ, AND MUST BE E-MAILED TO EVERY DEMOCRAT IN CONGRESS AND EVERY DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATE. I implore everyone to e-mail 'The Republican Nemesis' to everyone they know and to progressive blogs, but especially to their Democratic senators and congressmen. I have, and starting tomorrow I'm going to e-mail a copy to every Democrat in Congress and to Howard Dean at the DNC."

"I've been reading this blog and posting here for five months. I've read countless posts filled with valuable information and great insights, and have appreciated them all. Then, on September 10, 2005 at 8:06 am EST, Linette told us about ‘The Republican Nemesis’ and in my humble opinion, posted the most valuable link in the history of the Conyers Blog."

It’s not just Rusty, people. Here’s what others are saying about The Republican Nemesis.

3. scratches head...wha? this sound like spam advertisement.
just a bunch of people on different websites telling people to read something, but I cant find what they're talking about .

reminds me of being cornered by an amway couple once...all they did was talk about the benefits of an internet project they never showed me. I was supposed to buy in without knowing what it was.

but maybe I just missed it...what are you on about?

5. Believe me
It ain't Amway.

Rusty's right. We can kick the Repugnicans' butts if we all get on the same page. :kick:

It's all about understanding your enemy.

6. good stuff in there
"Republican strategists know they would rarely win if election results were always determined by a logical discussion of The Issues and nothing more (they know that most voters would benefit more from Democratic economic policies than from Republican policies). They know they must win the Image Campaign to have any chance of winning. That is why they are committed, now and forever, to negative campaigning. Republicans have never forgotten a key stratagem they perfected during the Reagan Era: DEMONIZING YOUR OPPONENTS WORKS. It works because Swing Voters are essentially “headline readers” & “sound byte nibblers.” When they see in the headlines that Candidate A accused Candidate B of having a certain personality defect, they tend to believe it. (Unless it is effectively answered.)"

7. Here's more
"The Issues might actually be important to many Swing Voters early on in a political campaign, but when both sides start to pick apart each other’s facts & interpretations, the typical Swing Voter quickly becomes confused. As the debate over The Issues drags on, Swing Voters realize that they don’t understand the details well enough to make an informed decision, so they end up relying on their impressions of the candidates.  Republican strategists see this clearly.  That is why they continuously try to create doubts in the minds of the Swing Voters about the character of the Democratic candidate. They know that it doesn’t really matter if they can’t find any real flaws in their Democratic opponents. Accusations, insinuations, & innuendo will work just fine."

The Repugnicans may steal all of the close elections, but if we could get the swing voters back, they wouldn't be close enough to steal.
