Watching Bill Clinton on Larry King. I am struck with the thought that |
|
GW Bush could not sit and have a discussion like this with anyone on any subject. It is really scary and sad.

I still love the Big Dog. Empathy just pours forth from the man. Faults and all, it's worth remembering how good we had it.

his answer about meeting with Cindy Sheehan was so empathic and thoughtful. I hope every human on earth is watching awful Larry King just to see what a real president sounds like.

|
King asked him if he would have met with Cindy, Big Dog said yes and told a story of a meeting with the father of one who died in Black Hawk Down who gave him hell. Clinton said as president it was his job to "take the heat" from grieving parents he sent into harms way.

Larry knows what her name is!!!!
That dog did not even give her the dignity of remembering her name.
Big Dogg was so cool and answered the question with compassion and honesty.

Though I don't recall if they were soft or not. However, I did hear him give a speech about how our country could turn around economically AND save the earth--become leaders in alternative energy. It made me realize, once again, what an idiot Shrub is. No jobs would be lost (they'd actually be gained). We'd need people to manufacture the solar cells and stuff, deliver them, install them, repair them. Plus, the cleaner air would lead to lower medical costs. Plus, we'd no longer rely on terrorists and Republicans for oil. It would be awesome. A huge government expenditure for this, even if it created a deficit, would be good for the economy b/c the money would be going away from the rich and powerful and to everyday people. He had good foresight. If Al Gore had been allowed to take his rightful office, he'd have spent the surplus on paying off the debt and funding such initiatives. That's why the rich/powerful didn't let it happen. Too bad if democracy is subverted in the process.
