2001 anthrax case still a mystery
http://feeds.bignewsnetwork.com/?sid=34674fb0243f68f4

Big News Network.com Friday 16th September, 2005 (UPI)

Federal officials are preparing a report on the status of the investigation into the 2001 mailing of anthrax, which killed five people in the United States.

But after more than 8,000 interviews and chasing leads on four continents, investigators don't appear to be close to solving the case, The Washington Post reported Friday.

Several envelopes containing anthrax were mailed to locations in Washington and New York, Five people died and 17 people became ill after being exposed to anthrax spores. Several government and post office buildings were closed because of contamination.

The Post said that in the last year, the FBI has reduced the number of agents involved with the investigation from 31 to 21 and the number of postal inspectors from 13 to nine but an FBI spokeswoman said those involved are steadfastly committed to bringing those responsible to justice.

Isn't it interesting that the anthrax put in Daschele & Leahy still has not been solved and Bush has decreased the agents to find the culprit!!! Do we really want to find Osama and the anthrax killer???
Makes ya wonder!!!

1. Yeah, and illegal Egyptians with pilot uniforms roam the country!
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/09/16/AR2005091601286_pf.html

A university student from Egypt was ordered held without bond after prosecutors said they found a pilot's uniform, chart of Memphis International Airport and a DVD titled "How an Airline Captain Should Look and Act" in his apartment.

The FBI is investigating whether Mahmoud Maawad, 29, had any connection to terrorists. He is awaiting trial on charges of wire fraud and fraudulent use of a Social Security number.

Maawad, who is in the United States illegally, told the judge during a hearing Thursday that he is studying science and economics at the University of Memphis........

Is it no wonder we do not feel safer? We AREN'T safer!!!!!!

7. Isn't it interesting that the FBI only got on to the case because
Maawad didn't pay for the aviation materials he ordered and the company reported him? Gotta make you wonder what would have happened if Maawad had paid right away.

Then again, that may be a lie--waddaya wanna bet it's an FBI front company selling DVDs on "How an Airline Captain Should Look and Act" and investigating any dumb shit stupid enough to order it? Can anyone imagine any possible use for such a DVD? Real pilots don't need it, do they? The only possible use for it would be for those pitiful guys who are looking for ways to "pick up girls."

6. But we are Prepared for Business but not Kids
At DHS own flagship website, http://ready.gov NOT in time for Preparedness Month, September, the Kids link is not ready and hasn't been for some time, despite advertising by DHS using kids in the ads for this very site. Of course, the Ready for Business part is ready.

"If Zack was responsible for the anthrax sent to Senators Daschle and Leahy, and if he also spied for Israel, it may explain why the FBI is reluctant to "pick" him up.

If Philip Zack spied for Israel, he could have provided a lot of lethal stuff to Israel. What would Sharon do with Anthrax and Ebola? At a minimun, his behaviour raises all sorts of red flags in my mind."

ditto

5. The only mystery is why the FBI thinks we're still buying their story
that there's a mystery. We know how this works. When it's one of our quasi-allies involved, or if it involves a secret military organization (ours_, or a political crony, they bury the evidence.

Democrats were targeted and the FBI just can't figure out where they should point their fingers. :eyes:
