what the fuck america? what the fuck?
Edited on Sat Sep-17-05 05:45 AM by mopaul
what's keeping it from utterly collapsing? you can only put duct tape and lipstick on it for so long before it sinks asunder. how can it continue as if nothing were wrong? why aren't people rioting yet? why do so many STILL support the ape? where are the fucking democrats? how is it all propped up and held together? what fog is blinding so many millions to the actual state of the union? what mind trick? what curse?

how long can it stand before it finally implodes like the twin towers? not much longer i'm afraid. how long before the distracted masses have that 'what the fuck'? moment? what invisible string binds it all together still?

what hypnotic trance are we in that prevents us from surrounding the white house and ridding it of the cockroaches?

dead people are floating down the streets of america, and we all go to church on sunday like robots. what the fuck america? what the fuck?

2. It's obvious, it's got to be, it can ONLY be, that a
Dark force constantly protects the Bush bastard. All of the crap he's pulled, all of the destruction that he's caused...and yet NOTHING touches him.

So I can only think that a dark force keeps him safe, because Junior's from the dark side.

Anything else just seems to defy all logic, like you said, if somebody would have done HALF of what Junior's done they'd have been tarred and feathered a long time ago.

6. Well yes...also Stockholm Syndrome, Battered Wife Syndrome
Edited on Sat Sep-17-05 06:15 AM by ...of J.Temperance
You're correct. His power also comes from him being basically a street thug and having countless street thugs surrounding him, and they're incredibly successful at threatening and intimidating anyone that gets in the Bush bastard's way.

You know, a million people with pitchforks could turn up at the WH, what are they going to do? The Bush bastard would bring the army and Blackwater out onto them.

It's very frustrating, he needs to be struck down, he should be struck down he's blasphemed enough...he needs to be stopped, because like the true Sociopath-Psychopath that he is, he's a complete menace to all decent society.

I came to the conclusion about two years ago, that a good portion of the population are suffering from a combination of Stockholm Syndrome and Battered Wife Syndrome. You know, time and time again, these people desperately try and escape from the hold that the Bush bastard has over them, and then time and time again the Bush bastard uses his carefully chosen buzzwords that directly tap back into the nations trauma and fears and that's how he gets away with it. He's a classic bully and abuser.

30. A million pitchforks
This scenario of surrounding the WH and forcing the little bastard out is a fantasy we have all entertained for some time now, but of course you are right. All those million pitchfork wielding patriots would be immediately gunned down. Because this is true, it has occurred to me recently that what we can't do the world might well decide to do if the U.S. continues along this rogue path. The idea is not far fetched. It has happened before in recent history. The German people alone could not have forced Hitler from power once he was firmly entrenched. What pitchfork wielding Germans could not have done, however, the world did very effectively though admittedly at great cost. Just as the world got fed up with Hitler, it may well get fed up with fascist America.

That is my ULTIMATE dream. I feel that the ONLY hope to get rid of these MONSTERS is with "outside" intervention shall we call it. It'll have to happen at some point, because the world, 90% of the WORLD hates these MONSTERS and they see them for WHAT they ARE, and that's a danger to ALL forms of life on the planet.

37. Maybe you're right,
"I came to the conclusion...that a good portion of the population are suffering from a combination of Stockholm Syndrome and Battered Wife Syndrome."

That's about the only explanation I can think of that explains so many people continuing to support the Bush junta, in the face of so much evidence that they care NOTHING for the average Americans.

And when you try to talk sense to them, they defend the Junta, or Bush, or they start this, "Well, Clinton/Kerry did so & so."
Like an elementary school child that gets into trouble and says, "Well, Johnny/Susie did so & so."

They do that pretty often, because so many times there's no way even they can defend the Bush junta's actions/speech.

13. I NEVER used to believe in that stuff...until Junior came along
Edited on Sat Sep-17-05 06:24 AM by ...of J.Temperance
He's worshipped like Jesus Christ himself, he's held up as a great Christian. Yet EVERYTHING Junior does is the opposite of what Christianity is about...can ANYBODY name ONE Christian thing that this bastard has done?

Also, the Bible says not to worship False Idols. And in the last book of the Bible it says that the Beast brings about "floods and disease amongst the people and the animals"...many things prior to what has happened in New Orleans fell into place between 2002-2004 and those things made me start thinking that PERHAPS there is something to this Anti-Christ stuff afterall...and I'm an agnostic as well.

The Anti-Christ is known as "the Great Deceiver" he has a tongue that "blasphemes and speaks great lies" he turns "man against his brother" he brings about "famine and disease" and he starts a 27 year war, the worst most bloody war the world has EVER seen.

For a start, if one were to want to start a 27 year war, then a war with the Muslim world would be it, because there's billions of Muslims and unlike others wars *, they're happy to die in the form of suicide bombs...so that war could be ENDLESS.

* I can't include the Japanese kamikaze fighters here.

And the Bush bastard seems to have two different faces within one face. If you block off the left hand side of his face, and then look at just the right hand side of his face. Then if you block off the right hand side of his face, and then just look at the left hand side of his face...he has two DIFFERENT faces.

The right hand side of his face (which would be the left hand side if you were looking at a photograph of him) the right hand side, with his black holes for eyes and his red hooked nose, I'm telling you he LOOKS like what the Devil looks like from drawings.

You can now often just FEEL the evil eminating from him by just looking at him on the television.

:scared:

Ratzinger was babbling about exorcisms the other day...hey can WE employ the services of an exorcist for Junior?

so why should I care, I have my own worries. Maybe Barbara Bush knew the American psyche when she said 'why should I waste my beautiful mind on something like that'. Perhaps this country is too big for the people to come together and get rid of the cockroaches, or maybe it is just fear that stops them.

(this article by Luciana Bohne in Onlinejournal illustrates just how stupid the gasbag is:)

Bush, Iraq, and Pope John Paul II

By Luciana Bohne
Online Journal Contributing

September 17, 2005—Cardinal Pio Laghi, Pope John Paul II's special envoy to George W. Bush in March 2003, has told Italian RadioRai in a recent interview that the US president did not read the pope's letter urging him not to pursue the war against Iraq.

Cardinal Laghi said that when he handed Bush Pope John Paul's letter, Bush didn't read it and set it aside, saying he had already pinpointed a solution. Laghi then explained that the president gave him an audience of 40 minutes, speaking uninterruptedly until Laghi broke in to say he'd come to Washington to present him with the pope's thoughts, not just to listen to him.

22. IF that happens. Right now they won't...
See, they are getting our jobs. They have more people than us. As long as we keep shippin' jobs out, they will be more than happy to wait.

But, eventually, they'll get pissed off at us.

Should they cash in or * default or declare bankruptcy, things won't be pretty.

And China has a larger military that isn't occupying someone else's land in the name of sweet, corn-fed revenge anyway. :D

They have nukes too and I can see why the US would go that route if we were invaded.

So it's no small wonder the US is posturing aggressively right now.

It may happen, it may not... something else may happen first. Like I keep saying, live life while you can.

20. The best thing about America is its innate ability to survive
whatever calamity that has come our way. I think that it is our collective mindset to survive the worst that is actually preventing people from looking at this president clearly.

Think about it - we have been in crisis mode since 9/11/01. We see ourselves, collectively, as 'patriotic' survivors no matter what your political belief. He has just very effectively tapped into that collective mindset and is using it to control everything. Its in his best interest to keep us in crisis mode.

Problem is - the Dem Leadership is waiting for a breather to insert their views. It ain't gonna happen. The RW PLAN is to keep us off balance so they get to have their way in just about every decision they have ever dreamed of making. I would not be surprised that if Katrina hadn't happened, we would have had 'some excuse' for being at war with Iran or Venezuala or North Korea or... I don't think it matters much to them what the crisis is - just so there is one.

25. Blanket optimism is the problem - exactly.
Depression - or the reporting of people actually seeking treatment for depression - has been on the rise in this country for several years. I think there is a correlation here too.

RW plan allows for three choices -
1. Don't see the overall problem and believe that GAWD thinks we are the best country in the world and will protect US because we are the USA, right?

2. Become so depressed that action to fight or even discuss the problem is overwhelming.

3. Have the heart and courage to continually address the problem and work, actively, for change.

21. At OfficeMax last night, a customer was whining about ink cartirdge prices
Well, sorry you bought a low-end HP, you fool. Their printers may seem deliciously low, but they make up for it in cartridge costs. HP is known for making cartridges that contain multiple colors in one. When one color runs out, the entire cartridge (containing 3 or more colors) has to be replaced - often for $30 or more! On a $100 toy, you bet it'll take no time to beat the printer's cost. TCO. I hope she wasn't an accountant! As is ROI, those shit-cheap printers' ink often fade or discolor after as early as a half-year...)

Add in the pointless technology (you don't need a new print head in every stinkin' ink cartridge sold; that's a sheer waste of resources. HP lies by saying "You get the best printout every time". Bull. I've had a printer 2 years now and *gasp* it prints just as good now as it had on day one! *WOW!* (of course, I take care of things too and don't treat them as disposable rubbish; like how other consumers do and how employers treat their employees... disposable.) Just give us the ability to replace a separated module and save us the money... sorry, that's common sense talking and that's wrong in the uber-capitalists' mindset.

I bet she'll try DIY cartridge refilling, the imbecile... she'll make a mess, but all modern cartridges from all brand have little surprises in store for people who attempt to do it, LOL... (that's also why printer companies now use new gimmicks to keep you buying THEIR brand ink such as vibrance quality, archival/gallery longevity, and so on. Well, for any printer worth a damn - the low end ones are ripoffs waiting to happen.)

26. It really is incomprehensible
I think the hypnotic trance is basically ignorance (encouraged by our media, at the behest of our corporate overlords), sometimes willful ignorance in the service of self centered small-mindedness.

As for the masses: unless there is a great deal more solidarity and organization in the name of the people (real democracy, dammit!) to counter the sinister and very effective soporific controls employed by the ruling elite, the masses won't stir until their own livelihoods are destroyed. And if that doesn't happen without an all-out collapse of our society's infrastructure, then we'll have to contend with naked force and martial law.

Wish I could be more optimistic on a Saturday morning....

27. it's the pigmedia
bush is a stoner nightmare.....he's so patently inept, a boor and a damn fool (post turtle?) who couldn't run a pop stand, yet.....'he's god, worship him or die' as his whores in the media say. his weakness is the whores in the media. bush is a blackmailer, armed with a lying newsmedia that hush anything bad while trumpeting anything good.
item- the people despise and distrust the pig newmedia...so why attack 'god' when you're just wasting your time and doing what they would pay you to do if you didn't do it on your own? (much of the 'bush bashing' is in fact engineered by the busheviks to identify the 'enemy ie the people)
item- smoking guns are readily observable....the price oil goes up, the stock market goes up; the price falls, the market 'gains confidence' the number of unemployed is published and is higher, the dow goes up...the number housing starts falls, the dow 'gains strength' etc...iow the entire shell game is starting to backfire on the pigs, yet noone says anything because, well economics is too complex etc..
the people suspect that they have a bad enemy in control of the country, but suspicion is entertaining if it isn't reinforced constantly not by attacking bush, but by attacking the pigmedia.....when the truth comes out about jfk, we'll find out it was common knowlege that the men behind bush, the anti liberal, the fascist conmen who've gained power by learning that simply by controlling the newsmedia, w/out rules or ethics, the only truth allowed was what benefit them...SO! ignore what the pigmedia is saying/doing, and highlight the obvious reasons why they say/do it- greed and criminality and race class hatreds...foxnews is an excellent source for all the crazy stuff (ie no terrorists on 911 but the Follywood producers etc) as they're so fulla bush that anything is believable (an advantage if utilized by the anti busheviks)

on you physically and mentally, and Postman talked about how the whole "amusement" thing, greatly exacerbated by TV, blossomed into the selfish, me-first, amusement-at-all-costs philosophy that is now costing us a democracy, a society and a culture. We now have capitalism to take place of democracy and culture, and instead of citizens, we are now no more than consumers.

36. Several days after the storm hit
While looking in the refrigerator and trying to decide whether my key lime yogurt had gone over the edge of eatability because of no electricity, a thought kept crossing my mind. It continued when I rejoiced at enough rain to both shampoo and rinse my hair in the runoff of my eavetrough. It crossed my mind when I was trying to secure my yard for the night with nylon rope tied to my car bumper.

"This is the future. Get used to it and learn from it."

A sobering thought and an eye opening moment for me. Too bad it had to take a Superstorm to make me take stock of the situation and realize we are on our own. Neighbor helping neighbor because sometimes help doesn't come from faulty exalted leadership. Will it take the decimation of the rest of the country to wake people up?

39. isn't Wes Clark doing that?
I'm continually seeing tidbits on DU about his rapid response to Bush. He just isn't getting press coverage.

But to really generate news coverage, one must engage in theater. Remember the day when John Conyers marched to the White House with a letter signed by many members of the Congressional Black Caucus? He got coverage.

Political theater. Think about its role in the history of protests. Beginning with tea in the Boston harbor.

Camp Casey was theater. Cindy Sheehan is now a household word and has a platform from which to speak.

41. yesterday I was pondering this question with a Unitarian minister
We were pondering the sense of evil that seems instilled in the actions to control New Orleans, and then moved to talk about the battle between good and evil that is taking place as Bushco fronts for forces that seek dominion and oppression.

I showed her information about the founding of Skull and Bones, and then we really were struck by the enormity of the struggle. She said that she was having to re-assess her beliefs on the nature of evil in human form. She hadn't believed in Satan. Now she's not sure.

All day long, I wrestled with the understanding that the forces W. fronts for are old and are powerful beyond our capacity to imagine. The minutiae we fight daily on DU are insignificant in this battle -- even the battle over the FEMA response.

THIS IS A BATTLE BETWEEN GOOD AND EVIL.

Resistance will take EVERY one of us. Resistance will require that we set aside many of our daily concerns and activities. Each of us has a use. Some must give more than others, but all must give to the effort.

This minister said that people ask what they are to do. (She's considered to be a bit of a prophet.) This is the list we devised, for what to do.

1. Name the evil. This is a struggle between good and evil.

2. Identify your particular role and task.

3. If your task is not to be a leader with the dangers of exposure, then support those who are on the front. (Provide for their children. Help them with subsistence. Be at their back.)

44. I hear ya and I agree. But sad to say people just do NOT care.

People don't care unless something bad happens to them.

Here's 2 negative examples of this...

I asked a couple of acquaintances if their small biz was affected by Katrina. "Oh no," they said. So I asked "You mean customers aren't upset or haven't mentioned it at all? "Oh no," they said, "We've barely thought about it ourselves."
:wtf: WTF is wrong with these people?!

Also, another kinda sorta friend, that I was just getting to know outed herself as an ugly ugly rethug a few weeks ago. Even though she knew I was a dem she ranted on and on about "evil" democrats and taxes. I even patiently listened to her whine about a measly $20 buck fee she had to pay to the state which she holds the democratic governor responsible for. :eyes: I don't know why but I guess I thought I might be able to change her mind so I let it all go and then Katrina hit. Didn't hear one word from her for a week even though she'd promised me an email. I knew then she didn't give a shit about NOLA and was avoiding the issue. After spending that week crying my eyes out and watching what had happened to those people because of inhumane rethugs, that was it! I let her have it with both barrels in an email! Let's just say I held nothing back! She replied with a nasty personal attack and I replied with another political AND personal attack and haven't heard from her since. Good riddance! I don't need that kind of poison in my life! :puke:

And one positive example...

Last weekend, I found out that a good friend-who've I've been afraid to discuss politics with the 4 years I've known her-is totally on the same page with me about everything! It was such a great feeling knowing that our friendship was made even more solid by knowing we're in this together. :bounce:

While more and more people are waking up to the horrors of * Inc, I think it's gonna take a severe jolt of some kind to wake people the hell up.

And it ain't gonna be pretty. And Hope it's not too late.
:scared:
