Jim Kleinfelder letter: Cindy Sheehan just another hypocrite
The Forum
Published Saturday, September 17, 2005

I am also very critical of Cindy Sheehan. When I was ordered to Vietnam, and a sole-surviving son, I talked to my mother. She was not for the war, but informed me that I agreed to this when I signed the dotted line, and it was my obligation to go. She said she would never consider protesting, and she would accept what God sent her way.

Sheehan is just like people like Christopher Reeve, a hypocrite. Did you hear him toot his horn for spinal research when he was well – no! Because he didn’t care. Was Sheehan out protesting the war before her son went to Iraq? No! Was she scared? Yes – so was my mother.

Sheehan is a hypocrite. Anyone can protest after the fact. Like Hanoi Jane, Baghdad Cindy fits. She is hurting the troops and helping the enemy. Again I ask, where was Sheehan protesting at the beginning of the war; where was she before her son went off to Iraq?

I will not drag this out, but I have no respect for people like her. I am sorry she lost her son. I have two sons in the military and do not want to lose either one, but she needs to get off her pity-pot and get on with her life.

Jim Kleinfelder

Ignorant people like this scare me and this area is full of people like this. I wonder what he thought of the millions of people world wide protesting in the streets before bu$h started killing innocents in the Middle East? I bet he doesn't even know.

2. Well Mr. Kleinfelder...until one of your sons comes home in a body bag
Shut the hell up. You are not qualified to speak about this UNLESS and UNTIL you get one or both of your sons home in a flag draped coffin. I think that fact makes Ms. Sheehan qualified to say anything she wants about this war for oil. She carried that child in her womb and raised him with love and devotion. Then he was killed in a war for oil. She has earned her right to dissent, plain and simple. So shut up Mr. Kleinfelder right now.

3. That's beyond stupid
If I was 100% for the war yesterday, and something changed my mind, and today I'm 100% against it, I'm still not a hypocrite. That's simply just not the definition of hypocrite. His attack not only fails at accuracy, but even if he were right about hypocricy, it would be:

http://www.nizkor.org/features/fallacies/ad-hominem-tu-quoque.html

People who say things like that are not only confused, but they think that they have the ultimate truth and are so closed-minded they could never consider the fact that other people change their minds.

4. So if I never gave to the American Cancer Society ...
and my mom dies from cancer and I contribute to them, am I a hypocrite?
