Rehnquist has snuffed it, time to move on.

(and, yes, the flags should have gone down days' earlier, for the Katrina disaster, in the first place. And they should stay down because of it.

If there has been an official word including Katrina then I withdraw my cynicism.

Just remember, as with "liberating the Iraqi people", any official comments about Katrina came about because the people spoke up in rationalizations.

1. after Cheney's surgery.
speaking of which,
http://www.medpagetoday.com/Cardiology/InterventionalCardiology/tb/1385
med page talks about his problem in July, 2005, and states that surgery may be required. Please note that aortic aneurysms often follow Cheney's released diagnosis. Assuming that is true.

I have not seen (nor could I locate) any official designation of Katrina regarding the half-masted flags. That appears to be directed solely to Rehnquist and to the future of America once Roberts is through with us.

2. They should be at half mast until Bush is out of office.
We should honor all of the people that die at his hand every day in this country. Iraq, Afghanistan, American disasters, poverty, no medical care coverage, etc. People die every day from war and neglect because of him. So, I vote to keep it there until he is gone. I have been mourning for my country since 2000.

5. I'd been mourning since NAFTA, myself...
Though Gore sure as hell looked more sincere and I wish he had won. He may actually have been sincere through and through, though his campaign was still lax and never mind Florida and the stuporeme court judging on partisan licking over factual evidence...
