What percentage of the U.S. is "corporate?"
By that I mean, if you counted all the people whose income is related to profit-making corporations, whether they are owners, stockholders, or employees (or self-employed people who earn all their income from corporations) and include all the family members of these people who are dependents - in other words, all the people in the U.S. who are sustained by profit-making corporations - and compared this to the total population, what would that percentage be?
And, is this "corporate segment" mainly a base for the Republicans or is it also a base for the Democrats?

2. One question is to know what you call corporate
Some corporations are part of the small business world and some big enterprises are not corporations though I would guess this is less and less the case.

What are you talking about. Incorporated companies, companies with more than a certain number of employees, companies listed on the Stock Exchange?

3. Yeah, all of us.
We are all to blame.

But it's like life - no one can survive without some violence being inflicted, on some level. Even if you are a hermit, you will kill insects, etc.

Just been thinking about this a lot lately in a sort of Buddhist light. So true.

And, practically, we can't revolt from the corporations. No one would have a job. No one.

4. Small businesses account for the lions share of employment in
the US.

Both the Democrats and the Republicans pander to big business, but obviously to different degrees between parties and individuals in the parties.

5. It's on both sides of the isle!
They (Repukes and Democrats) just have different sugar daddies!

Most of Hollywood and the Media companies are run by Democrats, where Oil and other big industries are run by Repukes.

Even Progressive Insurance in run by a staunch Democrat, Peter Lewis.

So you can never tell... it's all over the road!

7. about 25% - 35%
the rest is beholden to small business

but even those who work for corporations are also exploited by corporations, so it is not a one-way street for corporatists.

8. What I meant was, how many are on the corporate gravy train, and how
many make their living outside of profit-making-corporate America, such as working for government, non-profit organizations, self-employed but not dependent on corporate customers, etc. I see myself in the latter group and I was wondering what % of America is in my group?
