2. Gimme a G..."G!" Gimme a "U"...U! Gimme a "Y"...Y! What's that spell?
I ask the question to see how many freepers are lurking. They really don't know what "G-U-Y" spells. One time one of 'em guessed "cat."

We're ready, Guy!

Hey, "I'm goin' to Dieseland"..(formerly known as N'Awlins)
Edited on Sat Sep-17-05 03:04 PM by SoCalDem

(under new management)

So much to see..so much to do.. Your family will remember the trip for years ...

Toxicland...(exciting display..ride in your own hazmat-mobile)

Petro-Village...(an amazing amalgamation of pipes and intricate maze of oil tanks)

Pirates of the French Quarter..(must be "this tall" to enter)

The USS FEMA (fun for the kiddies....must bring own provisions)

Dubya Gump's Wild Shrimp Ride..(fun for young and old..just don;t eat the shellfish)

W's Dumbo Gumbo House...featuring glow in the dark oysters, oiled pelican,Texaco Tea, and the house specialty.."all the better to see you" 3-eyed snapper..

Carpetbagger Cafe....featuring a fabulous $10 mini-burger..(freedom fries are only $5 extra) Bottled Iridescent Bayou Water only $4.50..(don't ask for the recipe..it's a secret)

Bab's Oatmeal Hut...Everyone always said she looked like the Quaker Oats guy..Grab up a bowl of steaming hot cajun oatmeal...then Make a RUN for the porta potties..

Beads R Us....Authentic BK beads (before Katrina)..Buy 'em by the handful, or string 'em together for your own souvenir..(Keep away from children..a choking and poison hazard)

Sign up for the GrayLine Tour of "Old N'Awlins"..Respirator and protective clothing included..... Includes a side trip to the Nature preserve (waders included also)..Camera not necessary ...the animals are still "evacuated").. Picture postcards of the former wildlife are available in the gift shoppe at the end of the tour.

And for the finale...don't miss the moonlight cruise across lake Ponchartrain at dusk.....But..be sure to Pick a speedy boat.. the trick is to make it to the other side before the boat disintegrates.. Don't quite make it?? Don't worry..Just grab on to one of the many simulated roofs in the lake, and hang on until the USS FEMA comes to get you..

18. Isn't the Admin trying to blame environmentalists for the levees breaking?
The DOJ had a "secret" memo to I think the state attorneys general about this -- looking for lawsuits filed by environmentalists.

But oh no, they are blaming anyone. Sheesh!

42. Actually, Guy, they did appoint a woman, Theresa Toigo
They got smart:

This is a release from the FDA's website today http://www.fda.gov/bbs/topics/news/2005/toigoOWH.html

Theresa A. Toigo Is Appointed Acting Director of FDA's Office of Women's Health

U.S. Food and Drug Administration Commissioner Lester M. Crawford today announced the appointment of Theresa A. Toigo as the Acting Director of FDA's Office of Women’s Health. Ms. Toigo also serves as the Director of FDA’s Office of Special Health Issues (OSHI).

"Terry brings more than 20 years of exemplary public service mostly as a patient advocate at FDA to this important position," said Dr. Crawford.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration's Office of Women's Health (OWH) serves as a champion for women's health both within and outside the agency. To achieve its goals, OWH:

<snip>

As Director of FDA's Office of Special Health Issues, Ms. Toigo led the office that serves as the agency’s primary liaison with patients and their advocates to encourage and support their active participation in the formulation of FDA regulatory policy. OSHI serves as a channel through which patient issues and viewpoints can be brought to the attention of FDA medical and regulatory staff. OSHI also works with cancer and HIV patients and advocacy programs on issues related to the FDA drug approval process, clinical trials and access to investigational therapies.

Ms. Toigo has held various FDA positions in CDER, CBER and the Office of the Commissioner since joining FDA in 1984. Ms. Toigo has collaborated with the Office of Women’s Health on a variety of FDA initiatives related to the inclusion of women and minorities in clinical trials. Ms. Toigo received her pharmacy (BS) and business (MBA) degrees from Rutgers University.
