We need revolutionary ideas and we need revolutionary politicians.

If Paul Revere were alive today, he would be riding across America....shouting, "The Republicans must go! The Republicans must go! " I wish we had someone that could touch America in the same way. And they rose up and threw them out of the House and Senate in unprecedented number. Of course, so long as the Repubs have at least 41 votes, they will fight any tax increases to their last breath. We need absolute majorities in both the House and Senate.

But we need more. We need an opposition Party with the courage to make revolutionary change. The wealthy need to pay their fair share of taxes. Corporations need to be regulated. Those that take their jobs off shore should have extra import taxes on their products when they slime their way back to our shores. Repeal NAFTA, GATT, and all trade treaties that have had a negative influence on our own people. We will continue to trade but on a level playing field.

Set a balanced budget as a goal. We cannot stand the huge deficits any longer. We should get back to the same tax rates we had under Bill Clinton. That seemed like a fair system. But, we should put an excess profits tax on the Big Oil Companies. We should tell the Republicans to stop their whining because we are going to have a national healthcare system for all our people. If we have to destroy insurance companies in the process, then so be it. They serve no useful purpose in our healthcare system.

Not only do we withdraw from Iraq, but we need to withdraw from most of the rest of the world. The Defense budget could be cut in half immediately. We would invest in education and programs to help those in poverty and to help build up our country. We need revolutionary ideas and we need revolutionary politicians. And we need a very progressive income tax...

1. He'd be confined to a free speech zone, arrested as an enemy combatant
or, as the old joke goes, desperately clawing at the top of his coffin if he were alive today.

big oil will be allowed to rape and pillage at will without recrimination. They spent alot of money to get their boy where he's at, and they mean to reap the benefits. Even if it does mean an illegal, immoral war that is sucking the country dry and destabilizes the entire planet.

We have no opposition party in this country. Both "sides" feed greedily at the trough. 99% of the lawmakers in Congress don't serve the people, they serve their corporate masters.

It is no mere coincidence that the United States produces more weaponry than any other country. We are the worlds armory. Tanks and missiles are profit centers and sold to friend and foe alike. Ask Saddam Hussein.
