Congressman Conyers: Pushing Back Against the Bush Smear Machine
I'm saddened, but not surprised, that the Bush Administration would politicize the Hurricane response. But they may have reached another new low when they enlisted the beleaguered U.S. Attorneys offices in the Gulf Region to find a scapegoat - this time in the form of the environmentalists. Yesterday's Clarion Ledger reports that the Justice Department put out an APB for dirt on environmentalists relating concerning the levees.

I don't think this Rovian tactic will fly, but its important that we hold them accountable for this smear campaign. Raw Story has a copy of my letter to Gonzales asking him to justify this misuse of law enforcement resources in the aftermath of a natural disaster. I posted a Kos entry as well.

Posted at 1026 EDT; that's at least 2 hours after Bush and pickles probably went to bed.

I am waiting for the day when millions of our fellow Americans realize that a true leader, a person who is doing stuff to save our America, day in and day out, is named Congressman John Conyers and he would be the best President this nation has had since John Kennedy and Harry Truman.

Actually, better.

Peace.

3. I think it is getting out. And, I think he is truly feared by Bush and ...
... the neoconsters.

He has all it takes to call the Nation to stand against those murderers.

It's just a matter of when he does it. I think all of us can help him make the decision to do it soon.

Without any doubt, imho, if he stood before the Nation, at the Lincoln Memorial and called for an end to Bush and Cheney's treasonous actions, he could well have a vast array of political, entertainment, civil rights, .... leaders in the Nation and the world standing with him. I think if he called Nelson Mandela, Jimmy Carter, Sharon Stone, Julia Roberts, Bruce Springstein, Al Gore, ......., they would all be there for him.

That is what it is going to take if we are going to avoid violent chaos.

Peace.

8. Thank you. And ....
... I admire much of what Senator Kerry has done throughout his life.

I think he would distinguish himself, forever, if he would be the person to introduce Congressman Conyers on September 24, 2005 and state that he will be the Congressman's strongest supporter and ally in the Congressman's bid for Presidency -- in their joint effort to try to save, restore and improve "America."

Peace.
