Rove: The Only Mistake We Made Was Not Overriding The Local Government
Karl Rove, President Bush's top political advisor and deputy White House chief of staff, spoke at businessman Teddy Forstmann's annual off the record gathering in Aspen, Colorado this weekend. Here is what Rove had to say that the press wasn't allowed to report on.

On Katrina: The only mistake we made with Katrina was not overriding the local government...

On The Anti-War Movement: Cindy Sheehan is a clown. There is no real anti-war movement. No serious politician, with anything to do with anything, would show his face at an anti-war rally...

and I'd demand that it be made publicly!

4. Everybody write their Congresscritters NOW
And ask why a man who doesn't believe the federal government made mistakes in New Orleans is in charge of the rebuilding. The man clearly lacks the capacity to understand the job just as Chertoff and Brown did.

5. In his and Bush's bubble he is always right.
Westmoreland saw the light at the end of the tunnel and Hitler had 2 armies waiting to go in 1945. I guess it is fun to believe what you want.

6. The only troubling thing
is that he was right that no "Main-stream Democrat" stood with Cindy Sheehan or the anti-war movement.

Our "leaders" should be ashamed of themselves.

7. I guess he thinks if he was in that meeting with Blanco
he could have gotten her to sign away Louisiana.

That's why BushCo is running to congress to get more power and to suspend Posse Comitatus.

The problem with the disaster response wasn't that BushCo didn't have enough power, they refused to use the power they already had and deliberately withheld assistance.

If BushCo was still in charge down in there, NO would be well on the way to becoming another Fallujah.

8. So, basically, this fuckwad called a grieving mother a clown.
He's really gone over the deep end, hasn't he?

I think his alleged "political genius" has waned.

12. Rove tries to invalidate groups and/or people through exclusion lingo.
Trying to make those in Washington better than everyone else, like hey we are better than they are, and you are in the cool kids club.

Amazing our own governmental aides are utilizing high school manipulation tactics to create classism, no pun intended.

Smart tactic. Won't work, because Karl & Co. have marginalized themselves so much now, not to mention the legal trouble they are facing, but might as well give it a whirl.

smarmy little ugly pasty faced punks..filled with self hatred, self loathing, picking on people but hiding behind other guys when he was confronted. Typical chickenhawk.

15. Does Rove's pastor approve of how he speaks of his church?
Do Rove's words reflect the sort of values that his church represents? Hey, New Big Strong Media, there's an interview assignment for you.

On Joe Wilson: Joe Wilson and I attend the same church but Joe goes to the wacky mass...

22. The "wacky mass?"
wtf? I'm sure his church will really appreciate this characterization. I would really love to know what makes it wacky. Do they preach humility and helping the least among us? Do they preach equality under God? Do they preach the golden rule? Do they pass the collection plate for social service programs? Oooooh, that's wacky!

The translation of Rove words read:

On Katrina: Ooopppssss ! We know we made MANY mistakes

On the Anti-War Mov't: Un-oh ! The movement is REAL. Cindy is a force to be reckoned with

I have no doubt about that. They are still bitter about that. I am glad she stood her ground. They looked bad for doing it and they killed people for withholding help. Stupid Idiots...

26. Sure Karl.
The only real help these people got at the beginning was from the local and state governments. If the feds had overrode them, they would have gotten no help while Bush finished his vacation.

27. That jab at Sheehan should have been big news given Clinton's remark
yesterday? Friday?...About how bush should have seen her and taken it like a man (was the point, more or less)

Then to hear bush's top adviser call her a clown??? That should have been big news. It should have been reported and the dichotomy should have been established! :grr:
