If a church wants to build a frickin $750,000,000 church next to
my house. Please make them pay tax - at least put new windows and books in the public school down the street.

Oh, Yea . . their building their own school in the basement.

(and Ollie North is their first "fundraising" event) :puke:

1. You have my sympathy.
What a wonderful opportunity to put up a political sign -- something that will appeal to the Christians. How about a list of all the arrests of Bush family members?

4. These mega-churches.. they don't just build a sactuary a lot of them build
campuses. Amazing.

Me, I prefer a church with a smaller number of people. It's cozier and more intimate that way.

3. Something fishy is going on here.
I think this "Ollie North" thing is a right-wing head on a pike. You know, like when you go into the jungles and you see all these heads on a pike and it's a warning not to go further? Well, the word "Ollie North" means right-wing, so it would scare off anybody who isn't, so these private schools must be using it to shoo off "undesirables."

I say this because I have called the Master's Academy here in the Orlando area and was surprised to hear his name come up in the recorded message. This was two years ago. It said the usual message tripe and ended with information about some get together (maybe a another fund raiser?) that featured Ollie North.

What is he doing that requires so much fund raising? Is he still selling arms to the enemy?

7. And They'll Affect Your Property Taxes
Larger crowds mean more traffic control.

Taking up so much land means water that used to go into the ground now heads for your basement.

And it increases the "mean" value of the land in the area...since it's not a business, thus driving up the appraised value of all the houses nearby.
