About 2,000 of our troops have died, and god knows how many maimed, but I've been wondering how many serious heat casualties have resulted from this summer in Iraq.
In Vietnam, heat stroke was a serious problem and people came home with their brains baked. It's gotta be worse in Iraq, what with all the body armor.
Anybody read anything about heat casualties in Iraq?

1. I asked the son of a friend |

who has served and happens to be here for dinner. He said that hydration is really, really pushed over there. He mentioned being overcome with the heat now and then but they use IV immediately and appear to know how to treat it more effectively than in the past. He didn't know anyone who had died of heat exhaustion.
