"Cindy Sheehan is a clown..."
thus speaketh the turd blossom.

"On The Anti-War Movement: Cindy Sheehan is a clown. There is no real anti-war movement. No serious politician, with anything to do with anything, would show his face at an anti-war rally.."

2. A couple of things:
1) I hope he really enjoyed his kidney stones.

2) Look out your window on the 24th - I think you might see some signs of an anti war movement.

Fortunately, Yahoo removed the message which potentially endangered a public figure.

And to happyduer from Yahoo: You said," Don't you hate it when someone from the VRWC becomes a MOD at DU.....Yup, it happens all the time."

Nothing that "someone from the VRWC" does surprises me.

12. Criminal offense
I believe only if it is a direct incitement (sp?) to action is it a crime.

So, saying on a webpage, "I wish XYZ was killed" is probably not actionable.

But, sending an email to a specific person saying "kill XYZ" is probably actionable..

The grey area is things like posting the whereabouts of XYZ, stating how he or she could be killed, etc, such as what happened with some of the doctors who provided abortions.

Statements that might otherwise be non-criminal become more actionable if you make veiled (or not so veiled threats) against public officials --- largely because the Secret Service or Capital Police or whomever --- who are paid to catch a bullet, mind you --- don't have anything that remotely approaches a sense of humor (and given their job, who can really blame them). You may not go to jail, but you will almost certainly get a visit from some pissed off guys in dark suits who want to find a reason to put you in jail.

5. Interesting analogy
He should do some research on clowns and clown history. He might be surprised.

Clowns get attention.

EXCLUSIVE: Karl Rove Makes Surprise Visit to Camp Casey!

Greets, Thanks Bush Supporters Opposing Cindy Sheehan
Snubs, Ignores Combat Vets, Gold Star Families Who Made Ultimate Sacrifice for Bush's War

CRAWFORD, TX - Driving his own pickup, with two trucks blockading both sides of the street, Bush Administration Senior Political Advisor and Deputy Chief of Staff, Karl Rove made a surprise sunset visit/photo-op Tuesday night to the half dozen or so Bush supporters camped across the street from "Camp Casey" in Crawford, Texas where Cindy Sheehan -- whose son, Casey, was killed in Iraq -- originally made her stand requesting a meeting and an explanation from George W. Bush, The BRAD BLOG has learned from eye-witnesses.

According to supporters from both the Bush and Sheehan sides of the street at the makeshift protest sites, Rove's visit occurred as the bulk of Sheehan supporters and volunteers were enjoying a final "thank you dinner" down at the larger Camp Casey II several miles down the road on Tuesday evening.

The BRAD BLOG has obtained exclusive photographs from Rove's quick glad-handing and back-patting with the few pro-war, pro-Bush stalwarts who were manning a counter-protest site across the street from Sheehan's original camp.

9. You know, he may be right about one thing, and for the life of me,
I cannot figure out why.

"No serious politician, with anything to do with anything, would show his face at an anti-war rally.."

This has proved to be true. And we will see what happens on the 24th, but so far most of "our" politicians seem to be trying to "out-hawk" the chicken-hawks and do not support the peace movement. Why is that?

14. Sad that we have to ask this question every week
...and I don't mean that we shouldn't ask it. I mean that each week brings the same question about what our dem leaders are doing to provide the checks, balances, and opposition that democracy needs. What are they doing to strengthen their own positions and show the public the other side of the coin? How is it that dems have all the issues on their side yet can't capitalize?

The question..."why is that" has been a fundamentally important one for the last four years and it has never been answered.

25. Good point
Ordinarily I would consider your post offensive. Except that, it's the truth. Many Dems are scared to appear in any way whatsoever to seem anti-troop as a consequence of being anti-war. So in effect they too become pro-war. Better watch what you say, you don't want to tick off those red states and seem like we are pinko traitors now, do we Mr. Kerry?

15. I hate articles like this
"Here is what Rove had to say that the press wasn't allowed to report on...."-- since when has the press "not been allowed" to report anything? Where do we live, in fucking Iran?

Yeah Rove probably said it. Source is dubious.

18. It just shows what a low scumbag he is
To call this parent who lost her beloved son a "clown" just shows what a heartless creep this guy is. He has a teen-aged son of his own, right? How can a parent not empathize with another parent who experienced such a horrific loss. I guess it's the same with all of the neocons in the administration. As long as it's not their kid, they don't give a shit.

21. If Cindy's a clown, then Rove is a ringmaster
This whole 3rd-rate circus is a direct result of his machinations. Rove certainly knows this. Unfortunately, if he is calling names, it's only because he also knows it will work to his advantage.

in order here. Soon, we'll be on the "then you win" part. Rove is sounding desperate.
