Blythe Danner last night
Not sure if that was slap at bush* or not. I think she was talking about recent movie she was in. She mentioned how wonderful it was we had Roosevelt in WW2 to handle a world crisis.Unlike now when we have a monster. My words.

1. How can anyone actually raise the subject of "leader"
without it being a slap at Bush? She might not have meant anything, but mention FDR and everyone is going to think of the contrast.

2. That wasn't Blythe Danner. That was Jane Alexander. Blythe Danner
did say that she wanted the kids in Iraq home now!

5. They sure look alike too! I always admired Blythe and how classy
she is -- long before Gwyneth appeared on the screen.

8. I recently watched The Prince Of Tides, and the resemblance of a younger
Danner and Gwyneth Paltrow is remarkable. Both such excellent actors and totally lovely human beings. :)

4. It was Alexander and it was a subtle slap, no doubt about it
A. is a very political person -- remember, she was the head of NEA under Clinton (1993-97)

7. What Blythe Danner said
In 2005 was was nominated for three Emmy Awards, for her work on Will & Grace, Huff and Back When We Were Grownups. Emmy host Ellen DeGeneres even poked fun at her during the ceremony, saying that Daner shouldn't be nervous because she's almost certain to win at least one Emmy. And indeed she did: Danner won Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series (for Huff, and it was her first Emmy win) and thanked her daughter and late husband, among others. She said New Orleans (which had recently been devastated by Hurricane Katrina) was her husband's favorite city, and ended by paying tribute to "our sons and daughters in Iraq", followed by, "let's get the heck outta there!"
