now hear this. I have something I want to say and if you
don't want to listen, don't let the door hit your ass on the
way out. Now let me begin.

I've been reading this site for almost a year now as I tried
to find some answers to why this world was turning so stupid.
I'm a little ole woman in the middle of the country with
more brains then I should have. I have been around the block
a few times; fuck that shit I have been around the world. I have lived
through some crazy shit that, if you were paying attention,
you might agree.

I have lost a president from a bullet in his head, watched
another resign as a thief and a crook, watched an old movie
actor that had early stages of Alzheimer’s become president
twice and then let his Nazi vice prez take over. I watched as
this Nazi regime leader was voted in, and extended our pain for four
more years. I watched a pot smoking, saxaphone playing hippie
grab up the white house and gave me some hope to an end to the
destruction that the previous twelve years of a Nazi regime
had destroyed. I was in Florida in 2000 when Jr. stole the
show and took the white house away and watched in complete
disbelief as he stole it again from us in 2004. I have now watched a
Vietnam War start up and repeat again in Iraq. The first time I
wasn’t of draft age, now I have two children who are. I have
watched my generation become a bunch of bloated, spoiled, arrogant,
bitchy, name-calling assholes whose entire purpose is to make
money and cheat on each other in the name of god. I now watch
and see them make themselves out like they are in the early
stages of Alzheimer’s themselves (what I like to call selective memory)
so they don't have to watch and change themselves and the
world.

I have sat here behind these eyes in total disbelief that I
witnessed all of this and have survived to talk about it.
Well, I hadn't seen anything yet compared to what I am
witnessing now.

I used to sit back and try to wonder, when I was in my early
stages of life, how was I possibly going to describe what the hell
was happening in words that my children might be able to
understand about this world in which we lived in. Now I am finding myself
incapable of even trying to put into words what is happening now.
I need to ask now, WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH THIS FUCKING WORLD?

Have we as human beings become such a lazy, cowardly, senile,
retarded, stop asking question group of people that we are all
just simply going to sit on our fat asses and make fun of each
other? I have had it to a degree that I can honestly say
concerns me like no other time that I have spent on this
earth.

I have posted 8 original posts before this one here on DU, it
took a lot of courage to do that. I have three times been featured as
the "headliner" on three different freeper sites. So here is to
all the people that have a high attraction for taking my words
and using them to slam me and my beliefs. FUCK YOU!! If my
little old words get you heated up, you haven't seen anything
yet.

To each one of you cowardly, overweight, retarded, red, white
and blue, pickup truck driving, Christian mother fuckers who are watching,
go ahead and post your threats and insults. I'm neither afraid nor intimidated nor
am I going to put up with your shit anymore. Fuck you and
fuck your opinions!

To all you Christian fundamentalist, bible thumping, Jesus
loving, righteous people, get up off your asses and start
LIVING (not just fucking preaching) your goddamn beliefs.

To all you gas guzzling, yuppie thriving, finger pointing,
righteous rich people, pull out your fucking wallets and start
giving it back.

To all you NRA loving, gun toting stupid ass right wing, self
righteous Uzi loving rednecks, get up off your asses and get
your guns back, because they’re coming to take them away.

To all the minorities of the world who have been beaten down
and shoved into the ground harder and harder, get up off your
asses and get pissed off.

For all the rest of the quiet, meek and not so sure of themselves people,
NOW is the time to speak up louder then you have ever spoken before.

I am tired. I am tired of no one doing anything to save this
nation and especially tired and pissed off that those of us
that are become a party to ridicule and abuse. Well you know
what? I am getting up off my ass and ready to take back my nation LOUDER
and STRONGER and more intelligently than any brain addled
freeper in this fucking world can.

Thank you DU for finally giving me a voice. I can now proudly
speak it to anyone within earshot. To every one of you
freepers who finds curiosity in me and our words here on DU, I
say DU; let's show them what we got.

Open your mouths (or in this case your fingers) and let these
lazy, asshole, piece of shit people that can't come up with their own ideas, that find us so

I have lived through 47 years of some very encouraging, and some equally disturbing times. Times when it seemed like we as a nation were ready to finally extend our promise to all of our citizens, and times such as now, where those promises are being closed off again, often times by the very people who benefited from their expansion in the first place.

I see those who feel the edge they possessed was theirs and theirs alone, and that it is somehow Un-american to level the playing field. But there is a glimmer of hope. The wall and the clock have been pushed back too far for the majority of decent people to accept, and many more realize each day that a return to the era the neocons speak of is a return to a time when over half the population in America were less than whole citizens. If the pendulum hasn't stopped swinging completely rightward, I sense it's motion slowing, if not stopping altogether.

It can only swing one way once that has happened, and my greatest hope is that as it swings back leftward again, that we on the left act as wisely with that swing as the neocons have acted unwisely with theirs.

I, like you, have had the same time frame experiences. I weep for my country. I am angry that the others of my generation have let things go so terribly wrong. I am embarrassed at what we are currently offering as a "future" for our kids and our grandkids. I had my children while Clinton was in office because I thought they would have a brighter future than I did. I still believed. If I were of the same age now that I was then, I can say that I would NOT have made the same choice. I could not justify having a child during the early 80's, as I felt there was nothing to pin my hope to for this country's future.

I can remember the day Kennedy was shot. I remember the way the sky looked, I remember the way my family, my community and my country reacted. I remember standing in my front yard, all alone, a second grader ... silently crying ... because I knew that my world and my country would never look the same. I spent my youth working on campaigns, both locally for my own father and then nationally for McGovern. I remember the speech from California that Bobby gave, because I stayed up that night, by myself, to watch it. I went to bed with happy thoughts that maybe I had been mistake and that there just might be hope for our country yet. My brother woke me the next morning to deliver the second punch. I was mad ... and I still am.

I have watched too many good men and women be pushed to "serve" their country when they didn't have a clue why. I have seen civil rights leaders cut down. Not because they didn't speak the truth, but rather because they did. I grow more angry still.

When Clinton was elected, I again thought there was hope for this country. I got on with my life ... the part where I thought I could breath quietly and deeply and have a life. I worked at raising my children to be contributing members of society, to understand that sometimes it feels better to give than to receive and that they have an obligation to learn to take care of themselves and their neighbors. I will not know just how well I have succeeded at that until they are in a position of leading or following on their own.

I hope they do better than my generation has. I often think that the "me" generation never grew up enough to understand that we are all in this together. I hope that Katrina drives some of those messages home. I know that I have been glad to see that there are many that feel as I do with the ability to reach out to those in need and the devil be damned.

I feel as you do. It is time. The chickens have come home to roost. I feel that I will explode with shame, anger, disgust, and embarrassment on a daily basis these days.

I worked for Kerry's campaign, volunteering to go to a neighboring state since they needed the help there more than here. I freeway blogged (and my daughter was excited to help! yeah team) and talked to every one that would listen ... and even a few that didn't want to. I believed in him then and I still do now. He still makes me proud and he still gives me hope that we can turn things around. Today's speech is a good example of finding hope when the truth is spoken to power. We must do more of the same. All of us.

To let off steam, I've started doing a bit of loud ranting in public lately, as I think we all should do. The time is right. You can feel it. People look up and smile in agreement for the most part, though you can always spot the freeps a mile away. There's a lot of freeptards that really deserve our anger, like the nasty fellow who shot me a bird yesterday just because he didn't like my bumper stickers. But, sadly, I think there's a whole slew of them out there that are basically good people, albeit terribly misguided, and not willing to do their own thinking. When the full magnitude of what's going down hits them-- and it will-- they're going to be utterly crushed by the vicious betrayals of the BFEE. As much as we can't stand the freeps for the most part, I try to never lose sight of the fact that these confused and badly misled Americans are going to need to find a way back home to reality one day.

I agree with this statement. I give to the Southern Poverty Law Center, which has documented right-wing organizations that push ideas could be described as Nazi. So right on. My sister married an American and they live in Palo Alto, California. He made it big in Silicon Valley with some high tech start-up. They make it quite clear that their agenda is using America's status as the lone superpower to secure access to oil in the middle east and eliminate Israel's enemies in the region.

WMD was a lie. Plain and simple. even if they did actually believe their "flawed" intelligence, they had every opportunity to back off of their incorrect info as they were feeding their intel to on the ground inspectors that time after time found nothing.

Liberation is the post hoc excuse that they made up to justify our continued occupation even though WMD proved not to exist.

As to "a little debt" is concerned. I little is one thing. Look at those numbers. Bush and the republican congress have created a deficit that is of unprecedented proportions. It is hundreds of billions more that the largest previous experiment in deficit spending. We are currently borrowing roughly a billion dollars a day just to keep a float. They Repugs have looted the treasury.

As to the Clinton budget surplus. It is coincidentally just about the same number that Bush just announced he plans to spend on the gulf coast rebuild. I would rather be paying with already collected taxes that borrowing even more and further eroding our economy.

I have a kid. She does not have to pick up my mortgage. But, she picks this war debt right up. All so that the richest Americans can have 4 tax cuts? That is robbing our children to enrich the already loaded. That is what is wrong with the deficit.

Saddam was not a Taliban style theocracy. He was a secularist that will now be replaced with an Iranian backed Shia theocracy. Tell he how that is an improvement. Our troops should have stayed in Afghanistan to defeat the Taliban. Instead they were sent to Iraq to chase a secular leader that posed no threat to us.
