A very calm and reasoned head on his shoulders.

3. Check out his books if you have not already...
I can vouch for "The Blind Watchmaker" which refutes intelligent design- a great read.

When I get some time I'd like to read his other books...

4. Very worthwhile
His works should be considered manditory reading for anyone keeping tabs on the Evolution/Creationism battle.

7. His latest book, "The Ancestor's Tale",
is a real tour de force and is highly recommended (but at 673 pages, it does take some time to read).

8. It was excellent!
I don't know why some people constantly put down Franken and his show. You won't hear anything like this on other popular radio. It's intelligent, easy to understand, and entertaining.

Main points for me:

Mutations are random. The forces acting on them are absolutely not random. I'm constantly bombarded with "I can't believe all this natural wonder happened as a result of randomness."

The fossil record never will be complete because fossilization is extremely rare. However, there is plenty of evidence for speciation in the fossil record we do have. Also, a point I'd never considered...if God did do it, we ought to have a complete record of that and we sure as hell don't.

Human races are more like each other than different individuals within race. (Intergroup variation versus intragroup variation.)

Granted, Franken doesn't do a lot of ranting (although he does some). Different shows have different strengths (including Springer who drives me nuts some times). Franken's is humor and large doses of facts.
