Do the Bush twins even have jobs? |

Some wrote a post whining about Chelsea Clinton's $100,000+ plus salary for actually WORKING!!!!!! :wow:
Well, what about Barbara and Jenna? What are they doing for a living?

She is a fucking Rhodes Scholar (and it sounds like she is a pretty smart cookie on her own merit and not Daddy's last name), so it isn't like she graduated from State U. with a 2.5 GPA.
I know Jenna supposedly works as a teacher, although I doubt it given what a flake she is. Don't know what Babs does, if anything.

University in England. Bill Clinton was a Rhodes Scholar.
Jenna couldn't get a teaching position until she passed a certification test (No Child Left Behind rule). Barbara was/is supposedly teaching in South Africa(?)
They really don't ever have to work if they have access to the family fortune through allowances, trusts or inheritances.
I haven't seen them or heard about them since right after the new year. They're probably embarrassed by Idiot Dad and are laying low for security purposes.

24. From article I cited in my post below: |
|
At the Red Cross War Memorial Children's Hospital, children sit on their mothers' laps in waiting rooms, waddle down hallways, and wail inside the burn unit, where nurses carefully wrap gauze around their arms, legs, and heads.
It is here, say some doctors and nurses, that Barbara Bush, one of President Bush's twin daughters, has been working in near anonymity as a volunteer.
(snipped)
Barbara Bush's experience in Africa might seem a made-to-order moment for good publicity, a chance for the Bush family to show a connection between policy and personal conviction. But the Bushes apparently will have none of that.
Watkins declined to say anything about Barbara Bush's stay in South Africa, noting that on principle the White House does not discuss the activities of the president's daughters, mainly because of security concerns.

25. Read the whole article - no one first hand confirms her presence there |
|
The Director of the Hospital says: "it's news to me." The head of the Hospital Volunteer Group says if Barbara Bush was there, she hadn't signed up through the volunteer group. There's one quote that someone "heard" Barbara Bush visited a pediatric burn unit a couple of times a week.
I had heard she was there for less than a month with a couple of friends. She certainly has no training for such work. If she really cared about pediatric aids, she would have followed through with the Baylor program - and she didn't.

29. But your post says she IS, and you admit you don't know |

If you want to see what real volunteers do in Africa, go see the film, The Constant Gardener. It will break your heart at the fate of Africans and their children. But these people are not dabbling at stopping by a few times a week. They are getting up close and personal as the saying goes. If Barbara Bush is breaking with the Bush family tradition of greed and self-interest, she would do a million times more good to do it publicly and put pressure on the Bush administration to put money into health care for American as well as African children, and not pour billiions a month into the blood-soaked sands of Iraq.
Look at the good Princess Diana did in publicizing the injuries to children from mines in war areas, and the suffering of those with aids.
Each Bush daughter COULD do a world of good, but neither of them is.

If not for good old boy Texas justice, Laura Bush would have been convicted of manslaughter.
Around my parts, they call it vehicular manslaughter, and you DO get charged under the circumstances of the Laura (Welch) Bush case.

Lonely intersection. Only two cars in the vicinity. You tell me.
Laura married into money, rather than finding a man with character. She has become part and parcel of the Bush crime syndicate. She helps GWB catapult the propaganda and is complicit in the crimes of the administration.

the kind most of us would recognize. These are society girl type jobs. You don't have to get up before 9am and fight rush hour traffic to get there. Or, heaven forbid, take mass transit. You don't really have a time you're expected in the office. But you are expected to be on hand for photo opps. during corporate social occasions -- to impress the fat cats. You don't really have any assignments. And don't bother learning the day to day office routines. Maybe come by the office once or twice a week. To have lunch with the suits. They might need your advice on buying some new artwork for their offices or what gifts to give their administrative assistants. They have jobs the same as Barbara Bush did...or Nancy Reagan (who actually did have a short-lived acting career). But very different from Elizabeth Edwards or Hillary Clinton. Think more the rich girls from the '50's. The conservative's favorite decade. These girls work about as hard as their Daddy. Only I don't think we've seen either one of them clearing brush.
