about 30% of voters, they apparently would support him even if he smashed babies on t.v. with a baseball bat.

how could he ever recover in the popularity polls? how could he ever regain his high numbers after he allowed nine eleven to happen without warning us?

1. Oh, I don't know, but maybe Rita does
I think he'll manage to pretend to be all over that and people will forgive him for the Katrina fiasco. I hope I'm wrong.

5. You are right. Rita is good news for him...
He can pretend to do something right and people will think he's the man once again. May God have mercy on our souls.

6. I don't know. I've considered this, but I don't see how Rita can help him.
If Junior jumps into a quick response, it'll only serve as a contrast to what he failed to do with Katrina. If he can rapidly respond to this hurricane, then he certainly could've done it with the last. Not only that, but if Rita does hit Texas and Junior responds to it quickly, he'll be accused of even more bias because it's his pretend-home state.

If he doesn't jump into a quick response, at all, we'll have Katrina-redux.

I don't think this is anything but a lose-lose for Junior.

2. Now we need to find a way to get other Republicans supported by
only braindead zombies. Voters have to see how bad the whole lot of them are if we are to make any inroads in '06. Dems have to start standing up and with only a few notable exceptions, few are doing it.

3. Yep. But don't fool yourself about the power of the religious right.
The one-third of voters who would vote for Bush no matter what are the religious right and social conservatives. They are the largest, cohesive political bloc in America right now. And they vote in higher ratio than most political blocs. The fact that they are thoroughly and committedly Republican -- or to put it another way, that the GOP is now their party -- gives the Republicans significant electoral advantage. I can think of no comparable group on the Democrat side.

Essentially, any Democratic candidate can completely write off that faction as irretrievably lost. So the real competition is over the remainder of the electorate. And to win, a competition candidate has to get three-quarters of the vote in that remainder. Or to put it another way, a GOP candidate knows he has one-third of the vote just for being Republican, more or less depending on locality, and only has to swing one quarter of what remains.

Well, common sense would show you that our party is what it is because we embrace a great deal of DIVERSITY and this is why the support bloc's not easily identified. The Republican Party is, as Howard Dean pointed out, an OLD WHITE FAKE CHRISTIAN MALE PARTY!!!I may have added a few words, but nonetheless, it's true.Your post is very suspect, but I will give you the benefit of the doubt.I know their are those who like to constantly post negatives about our party posing as liberals who think they can discourage others. They are easily noticed and confronted. If this does not identify you, then I offer my apology. If it does define you,it won't work.:P

The REAL cowards in this are the HOUSE RETHUGLIKKKONS who STILL refuse to impeach this piece of shit. Bastards. I guess the check is just too fat for 'em, not to mention the blackmail material.

13. They were eaten along with the republicans who
thought that deficits were a terrible thing and who believed that one of our highest priorities were staying out of other countries and preserving our privacy from prying government eyes.

Who ate them all? The Purple People Eater?

Or just some giant Brainsucker from Outerspace...it's a mystery.

7. I read an article the other day
that said that those same brain-dead zombies would praise the asshole for creating construction jobs if he torched the White House.

The saddest part of that? It's absolutely spot on. Some people are just so thick that they can't see their country is being stolen from them.

9. and the ones who simply have stubborn pride
I think there's a large segment that just have that personality trait of holding onto a notion for dear life for fear of looking weak if they admit they aren't always right. we all know people like that that never ever change their mind about anything, or rather don't admit to it. rethugs are more vulnerable to this trait I would imagine based on their typical personalities.

16. that sounds about right...
consider 300 million people in the USA

50% vote (generous guess): 150 million
30% still support him: ok... 45 Million

Yep. That's about the number of complete assholes in America... 15% of the population (actually pretty low, considering all the assholes who don't vote).

Not ignorant. ASSHOLES. Completely.
