More proof of ignorance on the right . . .
This lovely LTTE appeared in my paper this morning. I just can't get over how ignorant and heartless these idiots are. Maybe they all need to experience poverty to understand the problems faced by the hurricane victims.

Mentality to blame

Amen to Wayne Klicks assessment that the welfare/victim mentality accounted for many caught by New Orleans floodwaters (9/15, Letters). I concluded long ago that the welfare state continues to breed a cradle-to-grave, its-up-to-the-government-to-take-care-of-me attitude in countless Americans.

However, I dont concur with Klicks statement, They didnt have cars. To whom did the thousands of inundated vehicles belong? Yes, some victims did not have cars. Some cars were not operable while others were owned by the overconfident who failed to grasp Katrinas potential gravity.

Waterlogged vehicles certainly did not belong to those who heeded the warning to evacuate.

Personal responsibility for ones own well-being is no longer expected in America, much less required, thanks to those perpetuating out-of-control welfare.

5. Cradle to grave welfare?
Only if you plan on living only 2 years. That's how long you're allowed to collect benefits and then you're on your own.

Those foolish people should have driven those cars, using the state-issued welfare gas they get for free while the rest of us PAY for it, driven to a four-star hotel compliments of the social services organization who called ahead and made the reservations for them, and had their belongings stored in the state-funded secure storage facility set up just for them!

I mean hell - how stupid do you have to be not to take advantage of the system?!

Pam Hlady letter: Last thing we need is more Bill Clinton
The Forum
Published Tuesday, September 20, 2005
To Danette Nicoloff (letter, Sept. 11) who misses the “good ol’ days of Bill, Hillary, Ken and Monica,” give me a break! It was because of Bill Clinton that we have all of this underhanded politics, a Democratic Party that absolutely refuses to work with President Bush in the Senate and the mudslinging in the press.

Thanks to Clinton, he introduced mafia type leadership in the White House, pandering to small but vocal special interest groups, making executive orders while Congress was out of session – just to name a few. I won’t even get into the sacrilege that he brought to the White House with the garbage of Monica Lewinsky.

I say, as in the article by Dan Traynor (Sept. 11), that these are the views of “a gang of liberal activists” in Washington. They are a small minority of the Democrats, but unfortunately they are swaying the entire party. I am convinced that none other than Clinton is behind the scenes pulling the strings and helping them dig up dirt on well qualified people like the soon-to-be Judge Roberts, FEMA, our president and commander-in-chief.

It is time for thinking, mature Americans to see through this childish behavior and vote out of office those who would stoop to such tactics!

16. This really is great news.
It means that there is no dirt to be dug up on well qualified people! That is just terrific!

We can trust the Republicans to be honest about this, right? :sarcasm:
