Why you should Fear the 'christian' Right
RW'ers are starting to listen to us saying that the 'christian' Right is a Threat.

Of course, they respond in the wrong way.

They try to comfort themselves by saying "The Christian Right, it can't be evil or bad like the Liberals say it is". Some have even gone to the point where they have denied that the 'christian' Right exists at all.

If you want to know if the 'christian' Right is bad or not, find the answers to these questions.

1. What relationship did the 'christian' Right have with the Apartheid Regime?

2. How did 'christian' Right Leaders like Jerry Falwell refer to Martin Luther King?

3. What relationship did the 'christian' Right have with brutal Dictators such as Charles Taylor, Mobutu Sese Seko, and Efrain Rios Montt?

4. Did the 'christian' Right support the incarceration of Gay people when they railed against making 'sodomy' laws unconstitutional?

1. Trust me, I know to fear them
Grew up attending an independent baptist church, though I was the only member of my family to attend. I've heard it all, and especially, I know how they feel about women.

4. Everyone complains about how the Muslims are terrorists and
mean and whatever. Apparently most people have either forgotten or never learned the history of Christianity. It has been brutal and evil. Just ask any Native American. This is certainly not the religion Jesus taught.

6. Yep
I read somewhere several years ago (probably here) someone saying that these christian right people act nothing like what Jesus taught so I was curious. I'm a non theist without a religious upbringing and I was not familiar with the gospels so I read them (well most of them). My thought was 'where do these hateful assholes get this crap?!' These pseudo-christians who claim to follow Jesus are the scribes and pharisees and if Jesus were alive today they would kill him, or at least send him to Gitmo.

13. They use the old testament a lot
You hardly ever hear them using the old testament. They manipulate and pick and choose what they want to talk about. Of course if they were challenged on First Timothy chapter two where it states I as a woman am supposed to be silent and not have any authority over a man and questioned on my voting rights they wouldn't be talking about that since they cater to the "soccer mom's".

12. Exactly
In the old testament there is a lot of war. They kill in the name of God. Sounds familiar doesn't it?

7. The "Christian Right" is nothing but the KKK repackaged
They're nothing but white male supremacists in sheep's clothing

14. It's true
And people who blindly follow them are ignoring the Bible as well. King Solomon throughout the book of Proverbs tells us to not blindly follow someone because they could be leading you astray and it'd be your fault since God gave you freewill.

Christian Exodus Movement in another.

They take scripture and interpret it to suit their goals. For them it's not class warfare, it cultural warfare.

11. Good idea!
I always point out how in 1965 when Lyndon Johnson signed the voting rights act he said "We're (democrats) going to lose the south for a long time." Guess what the south is called? The Bible belt. And guess what the south is today? Pretty "red" on the charts of elections. Hmm, I guess they don't "love thy neighbor as yourself" too much do they? Don't forget interacial marriage.

15. The Christian right is the devil's work. Jesus warned about false
prophets and those coming in his name. He said we could recognize them by their acts. These guys accomplish so much evil. They decieve people honestly trying to have a faith walk. They make non-Christians see the whole religion as represented by them, so they reject it. They pull the same "with us or against us" as * and 9/11. It is fascism and it is about as far from Christ as anything the world has seen.
