George Bush doesn't care about black people |
|
With all the talk recently about Bush racism in the wake of Katrina, I'm surprised that no one has mentioned the fact that Bush has snubbed the NAACP National Convention every year since he's been in office. He's the only president who has never gone to their convention.

1. And, wasn't there a special CIVIL Rights advisory post that Clinton |
|
had started but wasn't filled when Bush took over. Can't think the gentleman that filled that position but I was impressed by the gesture at least as I wasn't quite sure what that person's job duties were.
Anyone else remember that or what it was called or the man who held the position?

4. He doesn't care about any people. Snubbing the NAACP is ... |
|
...deliberate. It is a continuation of the "southern strategy".
Bush wants to be seen as "subtly" snubbing blacks, just as his propaganda meisters (Hannity, Rush, FOX) subtly snub blacks.
This subtle racism is a very cynical ploy, along with the whole anti-affirmative action stance of the GOP. The idea is to give poor and blue-collar whites the idea that there is something "different" about them and poor and blue-collar blacks; and that the GOP is secretly on the side of poor and blue collar whites.
The fact is that poor and blue collar folks should all be in the same party, the party that represents their interests. The southern strategy is simply one of divide and conquer.
If you can get poor whites and rich whites to vote together, Republicans win, the rich win, and the poor (of both races) and the Democrats (of both races) lose.
Bush isn't a racist. He's a classist and a power-hungry Machiavellian (or at least his brain, Karl Rove is).
