Lying with a Bullhorn
Edited on Wed Sep-21-05 04:15 PM by Eric J in MN
From www.speakspeak.org:

Is Bush likeable? Did he give a great speech while holding a bullhorn near the rubble of the World Trade Center in 2001?

There are different assessments in the media.

Lisa Daniels

Reporter Lisa Daniels on "The Chris Matthews Show" of Sept. 18 praised George W. Bush for his supposed "likeability" and said:

He's the same guy that was on 9-11 with the bullhorn. He hasn't changed, and people still relate to his character.

However, NY Daily News columnist Dennis Hamill has a different take on the bullhorn moment near the rubble of the World Trade Center:

I wish I had a bullhorn to shout just how tired I am of hearing about how wonderful George W. Bush's "bullhorn moment" was.

It will go down as one of the worst moments in American history because when he stood on the smoldering ruins amid the dust of the dead it was through that bullhorn that Bush's Big Lie was first shouted to the world that the people who knocked down those buildings would soon be hearing from us.

...Because we fast gave up the hunt for Bin Laden for a bait-and-switch war in Iraq that had nothing to do with the rubble upon which Bush stood at Ground Zero shouting bull through his bullhorn

...he doesn't ever mention that Osama Bin Laden is still out there roaming free and plotting more American murders.

7. Can someone put side by side, the pictures
of Dummy cheerleading at Yale with the megaphone, and with the bullhorn in NYC ? And then put a nice caption with it. It doesn't take much courage to do what he did in either case.

9. I haven't seen Chris Matthews' shows in a while
because I've been without cable for about 15 months.

But I'm restoring cable tv this weekend.

I hope I don't wind up watching more of Chris Matthews than I can take.
