Is there *ANYTHING* that could be done to help folks like Amir? Even if they were smuggled out of Iran (or other countries with similar treatment - and there are lot of them) they risk being deported back to the country likely to face death.

Is there anything that anyone can do? Is there a country somewhere that offers safe asylum?

You see it is not the act of having sex with someone of the same sex they find satisfying. It is the domination and humiliation.

Besides that, being gay is much more than just who you sleep with - that is so insignificant as to not matter. Anyone can sleep with someone else, that doesn't make them gay. A "straight" man can sleep with another man - that doesn't make him gay. Being gay is the need/want to be in a relationship with someone of the same sex, someone who wants to share the rest of their life with someone of the same sex. It actually has very little to actually do with sex in and of itself.

It is very frequent for men to have sex with other men, but they do not consider themselves gay. For them, you're gay if you want to have a relationship with another man.
