Looks like Rita's path is a worst case scenario for Houston/Galveston... |
|
...since the most damage comes from the storm surge on the east side of the eye. Current path shows Rita hitting to the west of Galveston and Houston, which means the worst of the storm surge will hit those areas. (Short of a change in the path.)
Does anyone have links to worst case scenario plans for hurricanes hitting those areas?

And for what could happen to Galveston: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=104&topic_id=4832343&mesg_id=4832343
