What do you think the future holds for the Bush administration? |
|
Seriously.
Can they make it for three more years?

4. I just don't think they can bounce back. |
|
Not that I want them to!
I'm just trying to picture how this meltdown will play out. They have so much time left in their second term.
Of course I'm praying for a full blown implosion.

12. If it gets too bad for them they will manufacture some event that |
|
will lead to martial law via the Patriot Act, keeping chimpy in office for as long as needed for "national security" reasons.

8. if he's not impeached there will be a military coup |
|
and I believe that the military will not stop there, there will be a clean sweep of the pork on capital hill, I really don't want that but if the Congress doesn't start doing what they are paid to do "protect and defend the constitution" instead of "dialing for dollars" with the PACs then I think that is what will happen. And at that point, will we ever get back the government as defined by the constitution, I seriously doubt it, I don't think Americans will care very much since I doubt it will be televised.

13. what really shorts George's chances is the rigged elections |
|
the fix is in and there has not been much of a response to that, I could see the military discounting the role of the electorate in effecting change. Otherwise, there might be a temptation to play ostrich for 3 more years but there is no guarantee that 2006/2008 will bring change. The current inaction of the republican majority is clear evidence that the White House has corrupted their role in the checks and balance process. They haven't even acted on Tom Delay yet!

they control the government, the military, the courts, the media, the money, and the votes. Unless this country wakes up from its long national nightmare, we haven't got a chance.
On the other hand, we're smarter than them, we have right on our side, and we've got DU. They'll make it to 2008, all right, but, with work and effort, they won't make it any further.

An endless litany of disaster. A blizzard of investigations. The death of their programme. Maybe some high-level resignations in questionable circumstances; certainly one or two scandals that we haven't heard about.
But no impeachment, no criminal charges in the top echelons, nothing like that. Not that it isn't warranted; because it wn't happen.
Democrat victory in '08 unless the Repubs find some sort of uber-candidate. Watch for youngish Repubs criticising the president now.
