1. CNN just reported Rita at 898 MB, Gilbert was 888.

2. NHC Projects a Decline
Hopefully, as Rita gets closer to land it will diminish in force, as the water is cooler. Also, the eyewall will start to reform and that is a significant event that can reduce its energy.
