It will nearly hit Galveston(one of my favorite cities) and Houston directly now:

2. Can we atleast spell
HOUSTON correctly?

I'm swear I am not trying to be an ass, but SERIOUSLY, with all the anti-TEXAS posts around here... I think that HOUSTON deserves correct spelling.

Okay?

4. My bad, wasn't thinking.
I should know better than that given how many times I've been down there, but at least I didn't call Rita "Katrina" like many have so far on the forum.

6. Not good, not good, not good.
I have friends in Houston. Fortunately, they have the ways and means to leave for safety.

Pity those who fled Louisiana. It's like they can't get a break :(

8. If I was a LA evacuee I would really be pissed off now.
Not specifically at anyone, but they really seem to have bad luck.

10. Tried to talk my best friend into leaving Houston
No go. In fact, she's irritated that the media is creating unnecessary hysteria and panic by their sensationalistic reporting. I told her there was no way you could over-hype this hurricane and she was somewhat taken aback to hear me defend the media. I jsut don't think she really understands the magnitude of what is headed her way.

I had urged her to get plenty of water and food if she wasn't going to evacuate, and tonight she told me not to worry because she had lots of water. "Lots" turns out to be 20 gallons for her, her husband, four dogs and at least two cats (I've lost count of all their animals).

I've given up trying to get through to her because she just balks at being "overly fearful" since it doesn't help anything.

Sigh.

9. None of those tracks are particularly promising.
Are our cities being systematically targeted?
