Time For A Prayer Thread...
With all the advance warning I am confident that as many folks as possible will get out of the way of the storm but it can't hurt to pray...

To me praying in an instance like this can bee seen as praying after you have chosen the best physician to perform surgery on a loved one... You have done everything earthly possible and now ask for divine intervention as a supplement...

I pray that Hurricane Rita does the least damage possible...

Peace

1. I pray that all those who are unable to evacuate on their own,
that god gives FEMA, RED CROSS and the National Guard the speed and alertness to help those people evacuate.I pray that God causes all the people in state, local and federal government to be blessed with wisdom and unity as well as an anointing sense of urgency.I pray that in the eyes of all those who help, God causes them to not see skin color or class, but makes them see whatever type of person they would bend over back wards for.AMEN :)

2. Count me in
I have been visualizing the hurricane downgrading and doing the least amount of damage possible. Not feeding in to the media hype. I pray that everyone gets to the safest place possible.

10. they don't have to hype it...
we can see the maps...

the best hope is for it to move a bit south....

it's going to be devestating... but it would be less devestating to less populated areas...

4. I know what you wrote is good, however there is something in me
that hopes Texas gets fucked up...And I consider myself a religious person. Something has to get thru to the Country. I'm not sure that things are bad enough for the RW's to get their collective head out of their collective ass! IMHO

But, my prayers are with the people and the animals.

6. I pray it peaks now and weakens quickly
before landfall. I also pray that people in its path will get to safety, and not take any chances. I pray that there are enough good neighbors to come to the rescue in the breach left by this worthless government.

Amen.

11. Isn't a hurricane an "ACT OF GOD?"
Maybe prayer is too late. Especially for those in MS/AL/LA. Maybe you should ask for a panel discussion with God, instead, and ask him what's got his knickers in a twist. PRAYING to him seems much luck an abused wife thanking her tank-topped husband for not beating today.
