Oh the irony, oil is source of carbons warming gulf, 2 hurricanes in gulf |
|
There is something surreal about it, no?
All the oil and gas we have been pumping and burning has sent all this hydrocarbon pollution into the air which has aided the warming of the Gulf. Nature, in turn, decides to return the favor by generating two hurricanes that slip past Cuba and Florida and make their way up the gulf. Where, in turn the hurricanes are super energized by "above average" warm gulf waters and become monsters that are now crippling the oil infrastructure.
I'm not one to believe in intelligent design but I see this happen, TWICE, and be it nature or whatever, but the message seems to be loud and fucking clear, stop spouting so much fucking pollution and shit in the air. Keep it up and I'll whack you with another hurricane.

8. Don't pose strawmen arguments. Wind patterns don't favor storms for S.A. |
|
Wind patterns don't favor storms for Saudia Arabia. India gets the monsoons. Bangladesh has had some horrendous disasters in recent years. So there is your evidence. Please don't post strawman arguments that take time to knock down.

have stated there's no scientific evidence for Global Warming and it's the bushwa who went to the Middle East on FAKE BOGUS PRETENSES to start a WAR so they could get their GREEDY SLIMEY hands on some more oil.

2. Just reaping the results of bad decisions. |
|
We make bad decisions. We suffer the consequences.
We will suffer from many of the bad decisions by the anti-environment and anti-progress republicans. The results of the huge deficits, run up by borrow and spend republicans, may be the next disaster.

3. One of the consequences of global warming is also rising oceans |
|
Seems like people might want to start thinking about that with the rebuilding process.
And yeah - nature does seem to be cleaning up in the only way she can.

6. explain the 2 cat. 5 gulf hurricanes in both 1960 & 61 |

gives this year & last a recent precedent.
until you/we can do that, the this-is-not-global-warming-its-just-a-natural-cycle denial crowd will cling to it like a life preserver.

7. Fascinating point, obvious now that you mention it. |
|
It has been pointed out that all the worlds oceans have a layer of hydrocarbons and pollution on the surface and just immediately above it that cetaceans and seals and penguins hit when getting air. Only natural that this darker material would increase ocean temperatures by absorbing more sunlight.
The Gulf is probably worse than most areas. Do you think that the hydrocarbons from the levee break flooding (car and truck oil, etc.) has washed far enough into the Gulf to add to the warming and the intensity of Rita?

10. Pantheism/Intelligent D. Simply States Nature Has An Inherent Intelligence |
|
Edited on Thu Sep-22-05 11:38 AM by cryingshame
There is nothing 'woo-woo' about that assertion.
And Intelligence does NOT automatically infer a Being or Personality in the same limited sense we experience being or personhood.
Here's a post about the Hebrew letter Kaph which addresses the way the Universe operates cyclically.
....................................................................
Key 10= Hebrew Letter Kaph means CLENCHED Fist and if you make a fist you'll see a spiral formed... kind of like the hurricane.
Kaph is one of Hebrew's double letters meaning Wealth/Poverty.
The Wheel of Fortune "combines ideas of cyclicity, sequence and simultaneous ascent & descent (evolution & involution) with chance, necessity, probability".
"Occult teaching emphatically asserts that what seems to be chance- whether absence of purpose or absence of design- is really the working of unalterable law. The rotation of cirumcstance appears to be accidental, but is not really so".
"Every effect is the consequence of preceeding causes, and the better we grasp thislaw of sequence and cyclicity the greater our command over subsequent events".
My prediction is that this storm will help America understand the consequences of our petroleum addiction and wanton spending habits.
Quoted reference source is Paul Foster Cases's work.

Ironic..why didn't I think of that? It's happening, no doubt..I don't care what bushwa says about that "there's no scientific evidence for Global Warming"!
Mother Nature is Biting the bushwa in the ass where nothing else has.
