Bush says U.S. must not retreat on Iraq

"The terrorists concluded we lacked the courage and character to defend ourselves," the president said. "The only way the terrorists can win is if we lose our nerve and abandon the mission.

"For the safety and security of the American people, that's not going to happen on my watch," he said.

When the panicky republican congressional candidates put the screws on the people who are really running things and they decide its time to get the fuck out of Iraq or face extinction as a party. The invasion of Iraq had nothing to do with defending ourselves. They posed no threat to us then.
