Edited on Thu Sep-22-05 11:50 AM by BrklynLiberal
If they are going to get in via Repuke votes, why should they have the satisfaction of getting Dem votes as well? I just don't get it.

but he does follow the beat of his own drummer...

The only no on the Patriot Act... A no on the IWR, a yes on Ashcroft...

He's a maverick for sure...

16. why?
he's against the war and has even indicated a deadline to send the troops home. He votes 99% of the time against Bush. I could still vote for Feingold in a heartbeat especially against many of the other democrats who are mentioned as possible candidates.

11. FEINGOLD??&^%$#@ Know why? Because he's running for PRESIDENT
and doesn't want to give the repukes any fodder to use against him in '08. :grr::grr::grr: And LEAHY! Man this pisses me off! Yellow-bellied assholes! They don't care about women. They don't care about minorities. They don't care about the disabled. This is BULLSHIT! Just on PRINCIPLE alone, they should vote against that man. HE DIDN'T ANSWER ANY OF THEIR DAMN QUESTIONS! WHAT THE FUCK! OK, now my blood pressure is sky high. :nuke:

Perhaps these people actually believe that voting to confirm is the right thing to do.

19. What could possibly be right about it? The man SHOULD NOT BR SUPREME COURT
JUSTICE. It's as simple as that. NO Democrat should be voting for him. Period. His damn wife runs a fucking ANTI-ABORTION ORGANIZATION for crying out loud! I guess being a woman, this is just more important to me. :grr:

I gave my opinion based on your numerous posts on the subject. And none of them gave any hint that you objected to him.

18. Has there ever been a Democrat that hasn't been called a DINO...
on DU? I think there must be about only 3 or 4 Democratic politicians that haven't. Makes you wonder if this is really DEMOCRATICunderground?

31. You noticed that huh ?
People have it in their heads that Democrats will vote how they want 100% of the time...and when they don't...they are traitors, or DINO's, or some other nasty thing!!!

23. there doesnt seem to be any logical explanation
and i include your options in that as well

feinstein gives very mixed messages but leans more republican
but leahy?

thats the one i dont get
he is quoted saying repeatedly that " i will have to take him (roberts) at his word"
it makes no sense

thats what a hearing process is about besides the fact how on earth does that response fly
this is about something crucial andi know they dont have the votes to not confirm but even kerry is voting no
man i think even BIDEN said he is voting no

his words are more like joe liebermans than patrick leahy

again
it makes no sense

never did i think leahy would be on one side and kerry/biden/feinstein on another and that i would be on the side of the latter

he isnt risking anything by voting no and it makes no sense
something better be revealed about this because its bizarre (when youre talking about something this important)

29. Kerry's voted against all of the controversial nominees this year
Rice, Gonzales, Owens, Bolton (had he come up for a vote), and now Roberts. Unlike Feinstein and Biden. A bit unfair to lump him in with them, isn't it?

very true that kerry has voted far better than they (or most democrats) have
