Another company in California will sell out its workforce |
|
Edited on Thu Sep-22-05 01:33 PM by SoCalDem
a longtime friend of mine told me the other night that his company informed the employees that their "bargaining" for the new contract is not acceptable, so the company will be sold...sometime around November (happy Holidays, folks)..
he has been working there for about 25 years (he's journeyman union). Their company newsletter is always bragging about how porfitable they are and how great their business is.. He's probably going to try to take retirement (he's 53), but is worried sick about losing the medical benefits, and finding another good job..
The company did toss out a little "lifeline" to them.. Accept a paycut, pay 75% of medical premiums, and give back paid holidays..
Apparently the compnay will be sold to "a scavenger company" who will raid it for the "good parts" and just shut it down..
Companies all over the place (with union employees) are doing this, yet we rarely see much, if any, coverage on it..
This is the family of one of our adopted-soldiers who served 2 1/2 years in Iraq.. (Jimmy's Dad)

1. The idea is to gut the unions |
|
if not get rid of them totally. That's part of the plan to make the US into a Third World country.

gut the unions and destroy labor, labor needs to re adopt the tactics of the 1900s, the early 1900s, and yes some folks will get killed, but they do it because they can

6. It was the real reason the New Deal was proposed. |
|
Unions are institutions of strength, providing the workers with solidarity. The hate (& fear) us for our numbers.

I know it's involved in manufacturing, and related to machinery.. i think there are around a couple of hundred people.. It's hard physical labor, and kind of dangerous work.. he has hurt himself on the job a few times over the years.

9. See if he and his fellow workers can buy the company. Maybe they |
|
can pick it up on the cheap and run it.
