If the MAJORITY of Americans don't want this war in Iraq, why are we still
there? Just who does the Congress represent, the people or the President?

1. Majority rule is only used to decide civil rights in this country. Silly.

4. Because America is no longer a functioning democratic republic.
After 2000 and 2004, and everything in between and since, it must take a tremendous act of will to believe otherwise.

8. leaving now will result in the country being taken over
by radicals that will not make the problem easier.

staying isn't any better.

bush really screwed this one - and its lose-lose all the way.

i read somewhere that Hussein had offered to resign and leave. Taking that offer would have been better than the invasion.

16. Exactly
There is no good way for such military adventurism to end. Wars are matters of life and death, they are NOT "optional".

This is the exact predicament we tried to warn people about. Just one of a HOST of irrefutable reasons we gave BEFORE this insanity began, but the flag-waving, yahoos just HAD to have their war... Now we have that A**hole Bill o'reilly saying "it may have been a tactical mistake..." No SH*T Sherlock. Thanks for clearing that up for us there, genius.

Uhg. We really are screwed on this one.

19. that's what really makes me angry when people say
that the anti-war movement was afraid of waging a necessary war. The war was unnecessary and we had the intelligence to understand the implications.

Why isn't Toby Keith staying the course and going to Iraq?

And why hasn't he written a song about Katrina?

All of these horrible, self-righteous idiots who were easily brainwashed or wanted to go to war have brought this on the country. They are not patriots, but enablers of war monsters.

The irony? They are the ones who would have been enablers for Saddam in Iraq.

28. The radicals are already in control. The longer we stay the more Iraqis
die. If we leave as soon as we can while leaving a PAn-Arab coalition with oversight by neutral third party countries that the different segments of Iraqi society agree on within their own segments then we can leave.

The insurgents will turn on the terrorists as soon as we are out, Al Sadrs Mehdi Army will most likely join forces with certain Sunni insurgents. Right now the general Iraqi populace sees the occupiers as the biggest threat not AQ in Iraq.

When you vote in a president and members of Congress who are Republicans you have just said that you approve of the war in Iraq for another 4 years no matter how bad it gets.

25. Because Republicans have been scaring the hell out of people
They have been pimping this war very well.

Granted, a lot of people disapprove of it. But that is irrelevant, especially to the GOP and the Bush Administration.

They propelled us into this war, and then immediately drilled into the public fear of leaving early "because our troops will have died in vain, and the terrorists would win", and conving them that "we fight them there so we don't have to fight them here".

And, when it really comes down to it, even though many people may disapprove of the war, they don't really give a damn one way or the other until it affects them personally. The only way people will care is if they lose someone, or if it becomes very apparent to them how much this is hurting them financially.

27. Vote was stolen
We're in Iraq because we had our elections stolen, and they will continue to be stolen if we don't speak up and take it back. Vote Absentee Paper Ballot ONLY!

It's coming out now from a Diebold employee proving this is NOT a conspiracy theory. It's now a proven fact that Diebold had a back door that could manipulate the vote via Diebold software!
