Any Comox Valley, BC DUers? Anti-bush protest on Saturday!
Comox Valley peace rally this Saturday, Sept 24 noon at 17th St bridge

On Saturday, September 24, at noon at the 17th Street bridge, the Comox Valley peace group is organizing a rally in support of global action against the war and occupation in Iraq and Afghanistan. Canadian troops are now involved in both countries. Support our troops and the people of Iraq and Afghanistan by bringing them home!

On the same day as the massive march on Washington DC to call for the troops to come home, many Canadians in cities across Canada will also be calling on our government to let former US military members who are seeking asylum in Canada (war resisters) stay here.

To get involved in assisting the US war resisters who have settled in BC, contact the War Resisters Support Campaign in Vancouver at (604) 737-1299 or (604) 687-3223 or the Comox Valley peace group at 897-3916. More information available at http://www.resisters.ca

There is also a protest rally against the spraying of pesticides along the railway line at the railway station at 1pm so some people can do both if they so choose. We'll be at the bridge at 11:30 - come early and come often.
