"Trash and shoes, personal possessions washing up on shore in
Galveston from Louisiana from Katrina" according to Anderson Cooper. How sad and ironic is this??? It's like the sea offering up the dead. This is so sad...

With the * cover up of all of the Katrina deaths, this may be the only memorial for many people who lost their lives.

1. Happened in 1900. They took the dead (about 8,000) out on a barge
and dumped them at sea. A week later they washed up on shore. So the wonderful :sarcasm: people of Galveston drafted African Americans to pick up the bodies and burn them outside of town. It is said they gave them lots of booze. I don't know if they were paid. They said the funeral pyres burned for weeks.
