to get all those wily journalists once and for all. They will call it "an attept to improve FEMA's public relations" with the American people.

17. It's a huge hotel where the city's government folks also will be. Doubt
they'd HQ there if they thought it was that vulnerable. Other media's staying there also.

4. Wondering the same thing myself.
Tonight, it sounded like he was planning to stay. Didn't say anything specific about it, but that's the feeling I got. Maybe he can hole up with the guy who is staying in his apartment building, who says his building is very safe.

Well, Coop, I hope you will be okay. I've become addicted to you (not to mention developed a little crush on you), so I hope to God you are going to be okay!

11. that hotel
is bomb-proof almost, it's built on a WWII bunker that once held a big ass cannon. As kids we used to play in it and ummmmm do things kids weren't supposed to do. Well it's right across from the beach and we surfed alot and needed a place to aaaaa errrr ummmmm keep dry?

16. A hotel built on a bunker?
It's right on the shore? How big is it? The bunker is underground? What is it built on - is there bedrock? You grew up there? How cool is that!!

xx

21. yeah
there are quite a few bunkers all around the island, they used to shoot at German subs and stuff. The one the hotel sits on is the biggest, it's made of concrete that's like 5 feet thick. It faces the gulf and is right across the street from the beach.

What was cool back in the day, before the hotel was built and before crackheads would stab you was that you could go into the bunkers and "hang out" after a day of surfing. One of the bunkers on the bay side was a bit more remote and covered by brush. We used to camp in it when we did all night tequila fishing trips.

I grew up there but don't go back because of a mean ass ex-wife who still lives there. If she's reading this then, "I hope all is well dear and you forgot to pay the insurance premium again"

12. Anderson is not quite the idiot
I long suspected he might be. And, in truth, I think he is a changed man. He wears an edge now. He's looking better ... Katrina really wore him down. But that edge is still there. He won't easily be made a patsy again, I suspect.

Now, dude, keep your head out of the stream of flying debris ...

Anderson Cooper has real courage - his interviews and reporting have been no bull.

It is a sorting event. We're choosing up sides even more now. It is a good, necessary thing. People are waking up.

13. Don't worry about Anderson.
He knows what's coming, he'll stay safe, and then he'll report.

He'll survive, and then he should get Peter Jenning's old job, imho.

What about those people stranded at the Greyhound station? Or that Superdome-on-the-Interstate?

Anderson will be fine, silly girl. :-)

My favorite hotel in Galveston. It is located on the ocean at the seawall which is 17ft above sea level. And then the whole hotel property is built on top of an old army bunker, which is like a small hill, probably anothe 20 ft high. In the 60's the bunker used to be a rock and roll club. If anyplace survired say a 30' storm surge on the island, it would probably be there. It is about 10 or 12 stories I think.

23. I loved him when he was on WNN, too.
"It's late at night, you're wide awake and you're not wearing pants..."

I've been a bit disappointed in him, until recently. He is only now beginning to live up to his potential.

26. What, and not "The Mole"?
I remember thinking, "Hey, he's kinda hot" on WNN.

Then he showed up on "The Mole" and I thought, "OK, not so much."

I dig Anderson, though. I'd like to see him get Peter Jenning's job, honestly.
