4. ROTFLMAO! I love this exchange from that link: |
|
Q Well, can you distinguish what you're doing differently?
MR. McCLELLAN: Yes, I just talked to you about where the President's focus is and what we are doing. We want to make sure that we're --
Q And these are things you didn't do in Katrina?
MR. McCLELLAN: We want to make sure that we are better prepared and better positioned to respond to Hurricane Rita and that's what we're doing. That's why I outlined the several steps that we are taking. And that's why I just told you that the President is focused on making sure that we have the strongest possible coordination with state and local officials, and that we have --
Q Which you didn't have before, right?
MR. McCLELLAN: -- as seamless as possible coordination with state and local officials.
Q In other words, better than the last time?
MR. McCLELLAN: I think I just answered that question, Bill.
Q No, not really.
LOL!!!! the press is not letting up on scotty the dodger.

2. I listen to those tapes after the hurricane. |
|
I can't believe how incompetent FEMA was even after the flooding. They sound like a bunch of idiots who don't know what's going on and don't care.
"The calls could play a role in any investigation -- whether by the White House or by Congress -- into why the initial response to Katrina failed to match the scale of the hurricane's impact on the region."
Yeah, right like brush is actually going to investigate himself with the help of his repuke congress buddies. They couldn't care less. The corporate media is back to being lap dogs, so there's no pressure anymore. They aren't going to do a damn thing about investigating themselves (unless it's to play the blame game with local officials). I bet they don't even ask for the tapes.

3. I hope Mr. Maestri makes copies of those tapes to keep |
|
in a safe place. And I hope he stays out of small planes.
The current "investigations" may be bullshit, but the truth needs to be learned and told, one way or another.

5. NPR says there are hours of tapes and you can hear them at their site |
|
It would seem that the tapes have been copied. I'm not sure if all the hours are on the site.
The Republicans can try to cover up Floodgate, but it is too late: the investigation that Americans are demanding will show the venality of strangling important government functions with cuts and cronyism and corruption.
