We've become the drunk that stands in the middle of a bar and says "Bring it On" We used to be such a nice, yes clumsy, but well intentioned drunk, now, we're just a mean drunk.

7. Well, the neocons are fighting the majority of Americans |
|
I think that's who the Bushies see as the front line: how do they get Americans to stop complaining and get behind the president? One, because their only strategy to "win" is to "not lose" by withdrawing; two, because the war was in part meant to unify the country around the strong leader who would then be given a free hand domestically and internationally to fulfill the destiny of the nation to control the world, yada yada yada.
The real enemy of the Bushites is us. Sad, but true. They will accept an islamic theocracy in Iraq and it dissolving into civil war, but not us.

11. Who are we fighting? Besides the British? |
|
I mean - since they're joining the "insurgency" (Brit soldiers in Arab dress shoot Iraqi police)..and since the Brits did attack a sovereign nation when they attacked the police station..and America is supposed to be helping Iraq build their country back up...so if we are on the side of the Iraqis and Britain attacks Iraqis (which it did) - then we must be fighting the British.
That's my spin - not actually why Brit soldiers were caught "undercover" and fomenting and escalating tension.
But since Britain doesn't want to be truthful about it, I'll make up my own shit.

Mostly Sunnis that either held power under Saddam, or enjoyed the fruits of that power. They are the "insurgents".
In isolated cases they are Shiites
A mix of foreign fighters that cross the border into Iraq from all directions. They for the most part engage in the "martyrdom operations". The suicide attacks.
