Is anyone else watching Imus? Did he really laugh about the bus deaths? |
|
Twenty four people have died in a bus fire evacuating Houston, but someone posted that Imus was laughing at the footage. Can anyone corroborate this? Was is a nervous chortle (I hope) or genuine amusement at senior citizens burning to death?
This is making me so mad.

1. He wasn't laughing at the footage |
|
but was discussing something else and laughing while the tragedy was unfolding on a split screen. It was offensive.

2. Did he even KNOW what was showing on the screen? |
|
I'm not a huge Imus fan but I don't think he's cold and mean. At least not at that level.

Here is the thing. If he is talking, he doesn't know always what MSNBC is putting on the screen. I have noticed that he doesn't always look at the screen to his left, he is looking ahead at Charles. He only looks when Bernie or Lou are talking to him.

4. He and his staff were off the wall with author Joseph Abboud -- |
|
I don't know how he gets away with this stuff. He is the sorriest excuse for a broadcaster that I have ever seen.
I did not see his comments about the bus fire, but I wish some station managers would just take Imus off the air and end the pain. I just don't understand it. He is the sorriest excuse for a host that I have ever seen (barring, of course, the holder of the highest CRAP AWARD -- Mr. Howard Stern -- and his naked ladies playing golf naked with dildoes strapped to their heads -- and that's just last night.
I wish broadcasting didn't worship the holy dollar...

that him and Abboud are old friends? If Joe was so upset about what they were saying why would he still come on?

9. Well, he was promoting his book "Threads" -- and he kept his sanity |
|
through the interview. I don't think they are old friends. The cover story was that Abboud was trying to win a $175 coffee maker.
Imus was bad enough with his stupid comments and inability to question the guest with any rationality. However, the two engineers, Bernie and the younger fellow who imitates George Bush, were just in a howl fest over homosexuality and they couldn't stop. It was inane. Glad it was over by 6:00 AM PT.

i have been a loyal Imus listener for sometime, and him and Abboud are in fact friends. They go back to the bad old days.

13. Well, you may be right. I am a book reviewer for a local PBS radio |

station and I plan to request this book and hopefully schedule this author for an interview. What I went on is that Imus didn't know how to pronounce his name (ab-BOOD), apparently didn't remember where he lives (Bedford, NY), and apparently had never read the book or made any references to what was in it. The superimposition of the burned bus on his program made their laughter over a homosexual reference look and sound ludicrous.
All I know is that I've seen the best in book interviewers and broadcasters -- and Imus is clearly NOT the best. He isn't even in the lower fifth. However, he must be making a fortune for MSNBC and whatever local radio stations carry him. Sometimes I watch his show from 5AM to 6AM Pacific Time while preparing for my radio show. I find him coarse, shallow, brusk, cold and untalented. Sorry, but it's my opinion.
Thank you for your response.
In peace,

7. It's all a big crapfest, so I recommend that you turn it off. But I have |
|
to give Stern some credit here though, that almost makes golf interesting. Almost.

10. If you like naked ladies with stars on their nipples and their pubic |
|
hair technologically camoflaged, you'll like Stern.
Personally, his show is so degrading to women that I would never watch him or listen to him.
