Who pays for National Guard equipment...State of Federal? |
|
If the state pays I would think they would have more say in how that equipment is used.

1. Since the Dick Act of 1903, The Federal Government. |
|
Prior to the Dick Act, it was the state by an almost 2-1 ratio, but since 1903 almost all of the money for equipment has been federally funded.

For example the Air National Guard F-16 all came from the USAF. Same with tanks, M-16s, etc

Alabama Air National Guard. I flew the RF-84/F, which was obsolete (as far as combat operations) and had been since Korea.
We did do a lot of photo mapping in the U.S., so I guess we served a useful purpose, kinda.
