Withdraw from Iraq, say Americans

Fewer than half of Americans now believe the United States will win the war in Iraq, according to a new poll.

Confidence in President George Bush is at an all-time low, his approval rating battered by the Iraq war and his government's slow response to the Hurricane Katrina disaster.

The latest gloomy assessment comes as anti-war protesters prepare to descend on Washington this weekend for what they hope will be the biggest demonstration since the war began.

Some 55% of those questioned in a Gallup poll this week said the US should speed up withdrawal plans in Iraq. Only 21% said the US would definitely win the war.

What this means now is that the war in Iraq is unwinnable..Since the war effort is losing the support of the majority this certainly makes the task much more difficult..And to think of all those lives lost for Bush and his oil barron buddies...
